Thanks PJ. I am happy to trust Moss and Jacobs with the academy pathway; I think there are plenty of people who need reassurance about this.
Interesting that he is quite likely to stick with the CBs plus one of the triallists; I wonder what he is doing to do with the McGlinchey space in the cap - or has he spent it already?
I love the comment about fitness for Kim and Eddie; I am expecting Eddie in particular to be a real force this year.
The next stage of the CoE sounds quite dramatic, but good. That is a lot of dollars going in.

$26m of private money about to go (next month) into next stage of COE including 6 story office block, community child care centre, eating precinct and some other bits and pieces.

Ground rental paid. Discussion ongoing re screen but an agreement seems close.

Any idea who is coughing up the 26 m, hopefully not Russian money, maybe Mr Harvey after he gets his Tinkler money back, as MC does not seem from what I have seen to have the funds to cover that sorta of investment..

Just on the screen rental wonders aloud as many have said what modern stadium operates without a screen and ours is not that flash anyway...

The Travelodge was supposed to start last December .. any news? I lose my own digs in Sydney in September and will want somewhere to stay when I come down to the Coast for games next season.

The old tennis club has closed, I'd imagine ready for demolition. If the funding is in place I'd imagine the next stage should be commencing very soon.

Just found this..... "Work on Stage Two of the Central Coast Mariners Centre of Excellence will commence in November and feature a six-storey office block, a gym and fitness centre for community use, as well as additional car parking."

Clubs own pages show what 'will' be completed by 2017:

The Hotel and licensed club are both on hold due to lack of interest. Note that they are no longer mentioned.

Driven away by arrogance and silly expectations (at least on the club side).

It sounds like the later stages are going ahead before the Travelodge. Travelodge seems to want to downscale what they committed to. I spoke to someone at the club today and they think it will go ahead beginning late 2015, they are still hoping for the original plan. The later stages are going ahead now because they have a number of people interested in the office block, gym and fitness centre.

A tad harsh; Travelodge was revealed to be in financial trouble a few months after Turnbull announced the deal (for those of us who read more than the sports pages) http://www.theguardian.com/business/2012/aug/17/travelodge-rescue-deal-landlords-49-hotels. It has been no surprise to me that this part of the CoE is on the back burner. As has already been said, where there has been interest, other parts of the development are about to take place.

That's a different Travelodge; the brand in Australia was (and still is) owned by TFE Hotels, an Australia/Singapore joint venture.

The Travelodge thing has always baffled me. Who wants to stay in Tuggerah?

My understanding of the hotel chain also is they are a 3 star establishment. Well that rules out any professional teams or visiting Asian champions leagues teams for that matter staying there. Where is the business going to come from?

I agree that staying in Tuggerah is not exciting but I think Travelodge is 4 star not 3.

As I said on the club side at least. Yes it is probably speculation re the hotel, but my source re negotiation with a potential licensed club is impeccable.

I can only assume that the same thing happened in the hotel negotiation that did with the club negotiation, which was exactly as per my previous comment.

.

Don't we have a licensed club on site already ... I have been in there roughly 20 poker machines, serves meals and drinks... would it be more upgrade the existing club and conference facilities..

Or is the existing club owned by Wyong Golf club... or leased to the Golf club...

You're referring to 'Club Tuggerah'. It's closed now. Is being knocked down as well I believe.

Club Tuggerah was owned by Wyong RSL, but operated by CCM. Little was done to promote or improve the site by the operators. As other have mentioned it is now closed and being demolished to make way for the new developments.

There were negotiations with the previous owners, and other clubs I'm told, about involvement in the new development but the terms were seen to be unacceptable (to put it mildly).

I hope they have a licenced club somewhere on the site.
I thought they had to pay the $$$ before they took over the licence.
