Elrich Goone? (Troisi edit), Edgar Davids anyone?

The Mariners have been in contact with sister club Sheffield United in the hope of securing an injury-replacement player for Elrich, and have their sights on former Newcastle United star Keith Gillespie.

Hope Kieth does come he was outstanding in the Toon sides of the late 1990's when they were a top 4 side.
He will bring width to our squad in what we loose with Elrich out.
Not playing regular at Sheffield and might like the change.
But does he come in as a marquee or injury replacement. As it would be a loan deal.
We should send Danny the other way and keep Bozza as Goalie.

i cant recall seeing keith play to be honest but am sure i would have... any improvements to our squad are a welcome addition though - not that erlich was setting the world on fire before the injury either!

YES PLEASE

Sorry Bear i'd still rather vukovic even after his poor game against SFC. Bozza did look shakey against QLD you have to admit.

x2 I'd still prefer Danny over Bozza

Would love to see Keith Gillespie here if he wanted to come for the right reasons

Danny's attitude of late has made me look at him in a different light. He needs to grow up a bit before I jump back on his bandwagon

Yes Bozza was a bit rusty.Only to be expected.

I think we'll see a different Bozza in the next few weeks.

Also I get the feeling the whole defence looked more comfortable with Bozza behind them calling
the shots.

. considering most people have been expecting danny to move on soon anyway, it is probably not timing

. the defence does look better with bozza's direction and danny's last game was, umm, different - i was thinking perhaps the upcoming suspension and/or the fact that bozza was going to be his replacement was playing on his mind too much

. forza, there was somebody else from sheffield that didn't want to come (didn't think it was gillespie) - but apparently the deal was almost done before somebody bothered to ask if he was interested

It was never announced who previously turned us down, only media speculation

No question there Arab, this is the benefit of having Bozza in the squad and hopefully Danny is taking notes in sorting and talking to his defense.

waste of time looking for a replacement we have all the players to fill this position untill the end of season and we will have Heff and Gumps back this season . All we need to if we want to spend the money is extend Bozza's term untill Asia as with him in defence we are a different team playing together rather than individuals so why spend more cash for a individual who could be no help to us anyway.
