Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Elrich Goone? (Troisi edit), Edgar Davids anyone?

Keith Gillespie on loan from Sheffield; David Carney on loan from Sheffield;Buy back Kwa$nik; sign Spaso Dilevski from  the Romanian wilderness...
Pipe dreams....
1) Players approached to be loaned out - even if Sheffield agree in the first instance - would probably have it in their contract that they have to agree too. Having just started their season I can see Sheffield saying they want all hands on deck, and a polite 'no'. Carney playing for the Mariners? No thanks  :vomit:.
2) Kwa$nik has left. Would it even be legal for the Mariners to talk to him and make an offer to him, now he's under contract to Wellington?
3) Spas - maybe there's a reason he's in the Romanian wilderness and not playing in Russia, the Bundesliga, France or the UK  ;) ?

McClenahan is a fullback/centre-back, not an offensive winger.

That said, having Elrich out can only be positive for the Mariners.

I'm with Jaza here. Sad for him personally but I dont think it will bother us too much. porter/Ossie now have the chance to fight for that spot.

Jaza .......... having Elrich out can only be positive for the Mariners ......... you gotta be kidding.

A player 26 years old who in 2005 was on the bench for the WCQ choosen by Guss, and was next in line to go to the 2006 WC. Then he got hurt made some bad calls ......... comes home and back to a prior coach from Parramatta Power sheds heaps of weight starts to rediscover that form that made him a Socceroo and you think thats good.

A knee injury can do that for you. Was it the same knee he f**ked at Fulham or the other leg?? If its the same knee, he could be in real trouble

EXCLUSIVE: Olyroo free agent James Troisi has joined Bruce Djite at Turkish club, Genclerbirligi, the club claimed overnight.
The Superlig side is understood to have snapped up the young Aussie on a three year deal after he was released by Newcastle United at the end of last season.

He will join fellow Aussie Djite who has made a huge impact since arriving in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with a string of goals under his belt already.

Genclerbirligi have a long tradition of signing aspiring youngsters - their name means literally 'Youth Union' - before selling them on to bigger clubs in Europe. Past stars have included Geremi who went on to Chelsea.

Despite the emphasis on youth, the club is usually challenging in the top half of the Turkish league.

The club's website today proudly boasted of snapping up Troisi and featured a picture of him in Genclerbirligi colours.

Troisi was released by Kevin Keegan at Newcastle when the club couldn't promise the 20 year old first team football after three years in the youth team and reserves.

The zippy Adelaide-born winger made it to Beijing as part of the ultimately unsuccessful Olyroos squad and made his senior squad debut earlier this year.

Are we breaking the record for "seeing the same article/news in as many threads as possible" or something.
I think we all know that Troisi has moved to turkey.

You're right - I watch football - you spout useless nonsensical rhetoric with no factual backing.

Looks like Jizza learnt nothing from the week off.

But I don't agree that this is nonsensical rhetoric:

Personally, I felt that Elrich was going to be good for the Mariners.

And you call Steve Corica the silver dragon??

Elrich would have been good for the mariners this season and will be good next yr. If you had a genuine target man or striker at sydney you would understand.  :piralaugh:
