Along with a few thousand others I left at halftime. The Japanese team were too classy and well drilled. The Mariners were crap. Their paper thin defence was a disgrace. On this form they should forfeit the next game, sack their captain and the nonexistant defence and give Danny Vukovic a pay rise, it could have been worse if not for Danny.

I assume he is talking about the same Danny Vukovic that conceded what, 3, maybe 4 goals at near post, the 1 place keepers are not supposed to concede

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing..

My analysis
me thinks maybe we should have let the Japanese invade Australia back in WW2...:p

I thought that they sucessfully invaded the Gold Coast in the 90s!

Hardly harsh sacko, watched all the goals just now, deflection he could do nothing about, in off the post with a man on it he could do nothing about, but beaten 3 time in 1 game at near post, not very good is it.

I haven't re-watched the goals yet as some of us have jobs to go to! :p

The 1st was defo Danny's fault, 2nd was Huke on the post, 3rd was a deflection so a bit unlucky, 4th may have been near post but from what I recall it was a decent strike and the 5th was an utter balls up between Boogs and Danny.
So I suppose if the 4th was near post your right, but I seem to recall the bloke hitting it from pretty much the centre of the box, if that is the case imo 3 is harsh....

BTW - I bet the players were pleased that there wasn't a post match function last night!!!!

1st was not Danny's fault (although he could have been a fair bit closer to the post), it was poor defending from Heff, and Porter was on a man too strong for him. Would have taken an absolute stunner of a save to get it.

4th was his fault, shot was good but it was not taken from centre box.

5th was all Boogs, too tired, too slow and bad control.

I am in Tamworth you knob end.

*Obviously* you're in Tamworth. How could I have thought otherwise, given your forum profile info has you in Kariong? Shame on me.

tbf, he did say in previous posts that he was in tamworth because of work or something

it still doesn't hide the fact that he is totally clueless in his football analysis on this forum

3rd goal was own goal by boogs, the deflection was off his arms, crossed across his body

OK I've relived the heartache and yes the 4th was also a near post effort - thanks for making me go through that again!

ONLY other POSITIVE - THE FLARE.....

It's utterly disgusting what the Marinators have become

lol at you for assuming just because it was in bay 16 that a marinator ripped the flare. its utterly disgusting the stereotypes that people come up with

exactly, everyone knows it was the green and gold army supporter in the bay that was to blame

Central Coast striker Nik Mrdja added that after the first Kawasaki goal went in, it reignited some old defensive uncertainties from the back end of the last A-League season. "I suppose we thought here we go again," he said.

What a buck passing son of a gun Mrdja is. After Mrdja missed the sitter in the 3rd minute in the area where I was sitting among the supporters there, it ignited the same old OFFENSIVE UNCERTAINTIES from the back end of the last A-League season. "We thought, here we go again. And Nik we weren't wrong coz that 1v1 was another embarrasing moment in your embarrasing tenure at CCM that has many more negatives than positives. Dont blame the defence for your inadequcies in front of goal Nik they had nothing to do with your inept display as a striker.

And of course the ex-sheepdipper from across the ditch (send him back there) showed yet again how scoring goals for him will be mainly through penalties not in open play for which I thought he was getting paid.

And Porters comment about  "But I think to a certain extent we let them play. Maybe we gave them a little too much respect. You give anyone time on the ball and they're going to be able to play."  . . . we chased shadows all night. How many times did a Kawasaki player have more than four touches whilst in possession? The majority of the night it was either one or two touch and we were nowhere to be seen. We were metres behind nearly all night.

Having said that, inexplicably we had five or six gilt edged chances that should have been dealt with better than they were and so we are left winless 4 months into 2009.

So Nik have a good look at yourself and include anyone else who purports to think they are goalscorers and understand that if we dont score we dont win.

Brazil traditionally had a weak defence BUT they had players who could score (most times) more goals than the defence leaked. So I suppose we are in a way like Brazil with one major exception. We leak the goals BUT dont have the firepower to score more than we leak.
