so we have 2 spots left which look like they will be taken by Wales + McGinchley (who are the frontrunners atm)?

According to FourFourTwo, Travis has already signed:

McKinna put his players through their paces at Knox School on Thursday afternoon with trialist Michael McGlinchey and new signing Nick Travis among the participants.

Dont take their signatures for granted if they impress in their trials... Both parties have to agree with the contract and... well... you know... money may be tight as far as the Mariners are concerned.

OK... I'm a pessimist. To quote one great philosopher on this forum...
It's not the despair. I can cope with the despair. It's the hope I cant stand.

For anyone who is as excited as me about McGlinchey

Michael McGlinchey

Chased by a host of Britain's top clubs, McGlinchey opted to join Celtic and made his SPL debut as a teenager in December 2005. Comfortable in midfield and attack, Michael has a bright future ahead of him. He also played a key role in Scotland Under-19s' run to the 2006 European Championships final and featured for Scotland at the 2007 Under-20 World Cup.

During the 2007/08 season he was then loaned out to Scottish First Division side Dunfermline Athletic until 20 January 2008. Although McGlinchey was successful during his loan deal at the First Division club, his loan was terminated early after he suffered a groin injury. He was released by Celtic in May 2009.
McGlinchey played 2 games at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup finals.

i tend to be pessimistic
but if we want them i am 99% we will have them

I'm more pessimistic over whether they (in particular McGinchley) can live up to the hype...I just hope he isnt lousy and out of form (have to admit he sounds a pretty good prospect- especially considering he is a 'chance' for the WC2010)

LOL, if he has been playing youth football in Scotland, I'm pretty confident he can look after himself already.

Brady is only a little bloke but he can handle himself alright (actually maybe a bit too alright sometimes TBH)

needs a bit of time in the sun to make it to blue though, after that he'll make it to pasty, then to pale...

Redders in Blades friendly win

Central Coast goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne has helped Mariners' sister club Sheffield United to a 4-3 victory against the world's oldest club, Sheffield FC.

Redmayne is visiting Bramall Lane as part of the close ties between the two clubs to gain valuable experience from the English powerhouse club, and got a chance to showcase his wares in a pre-season trial against Sheffield FC.

The 20-year-old was introduced on 66 minutes at Dronfield, his first task to pick the ball out of the back of the net as the amateur side converted from the penalty spot, their second of the evening, to level at 3-all.

United then scored what proved to be the winner in the 78th minute, and Redmayne had the chance to show his skills with a good save late on to save the Blades blushes.

Redmayne will leave Yorkshire later in the week to fly out to South America, where he'll link up with the Qantas Australian Under 20's squad for a training camp, as they prepare for September's Under 20's World Cup in Egypt.

National Youth League goalkeeper Matt Ryan will be Danny Vukovic's understudy for this Saturday's trial against Hyundai A-League newcomer Gold Coast United at Skilled Park
