Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Plus Huke = 5 international players - all clubless or from the lower divisions of the UK.

I don't much care where they're from so long as they do the job, but Craig Foster will be apoplectic.

I thought Huke counts as a native born player cos he has Australian Citizenship and McGlinchey is NZ born and should hold NZ citizenship so they wont fit under the foreign player cap

Wow, the Argentina veteran really is a veteran! If he's not regularly injured and is fit, then I guess he could still be an interesting prospect... Some people do age much better, some even exceptionally well... and he was clearly once a very talented player... But pretty hard to believe a 42 year old will be signed... Surely even Ronaldo at 42 would get pwned in the A league?
Miller looks old and he's 33...

I'm sorry but if Lawrie signs a 42 year old he has to go!!! The fact that there may be a chance that we are looking at him is worrying enough but if he trials this should be the last straw!!!

Does anyone know what the first chance to see McGlinchey playing will be?

*Looking* at a player is grounds for dismissal? You're having a laugh. If he shows up and schools everyone in sight on the park, smashes the beep test and passes a medical with flying colours, we'd be stupid not to sign him. If he's old and decrepit and we still sign him, then we're morons.

None of those things have happened yet, and we haven't signed him, so let's not go off the handle.

He is not even coming here. Someone on this forum saw an article about an argentine player wanting a go in AUS, remembered that there was meant to be an Argentine triallist here and said

This could be the mystery Argentinian triallist -
"Veteran Argentina striker Claudio Caniggia wants to play in Australias A-League."
42 though!!

but hey don't let that ruin your chance to go on another Lawrie out rant Razor. ::)

What about Maldini? Should the manager of AC Milan be sacked because he let him play into his 40's?

How does this set the club up for the future? Youth should be a policy that is incoorporated by the club! Signing this bloke or even looking at him just takes the spot of a younger player who potentially could play for the club for the next 5 to 10 years!

Great Argument scott comparing Paolo Maldini to an unknown Argentinian. Well Done you got me with that one... numbskull! I doubt you'd find many clubs willing to sign him once he hit 35! He was set in with the culture at the club and a leader. Quite possibly the stoooooooooopidest comparision I've ever read on this forum... Bravo!

you know very little about football don't you?

Well considering I was around 10 when he was playing in Italy its nothing to really feel bad about! But I'm sure your football knowledge at a similar age is far superior

I was compairing the ages, and if you didn't see that, then your the numbskull.

Once again Razor shoots first with insults, before he understands what was even said to him.

Oh by the way, 50 caps and 16 goals for Argentina and he is unknown? Stints with Roma, Rangers, Boca Juniors, Benfica....still unknown. You've truly outdone yourself Razor, back to the shadows for you my friend.

i am sure it was superior back then given what yours is now, but no more than the average ten year old player

a bit of research (ten seconds on the web) may have saved you shooting your mouth off

Is any of the info you post on this page based on your own knowledge or just lifted from other sites? Honest question... would love an honest answer!

well i'm a year younger than you, and the things i remember from that world cup are baggio becoming the world's most expensive player, england making the semis and the name claudio caniggia. oh, and that germany won, which i was quite excited about at the time.

Dear me, any opportunity to slag off Lawrie or the Mariners, get some facts before talking such rubbish please.
