ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Lawrie did state on the radio last weekend that redmayne and danny were our two keepers (plus two yoof keepers). So redders is in. I know that the team has only just started pre-season though if we have more signings to come (please) then i really hope that they are announced sooner rather than later as there is 1 month till kick-off and we can't afford a slow start.
At the same time i would rather us sign someone whom we NEED rather than just someone to fill the roster.

That means 19 signed up out of a potential 23. Wales would be the last possible foreigner. There would have to be two more u/21s in there - Lewis and Sherlock?

if we can have a maximum of 5 foreigners....that would still leave 3 to go based on the list above.....so if Wales is one of them, we still have space for another foreigner.  Perhaps Lawrie and his band of scouts were at teh Euro U21 championships and are bringing Theo Walcott or Mario Suarez to Bluetongue, or will grab Benzema from under Real's noses  :p

remayne has not signed on the dotted line yet and we cannot make the assumption he will be with us next season

McKinna on Coast FM last weekend  also mentioned a Korean trialist which would be interesting as 4 clubs now have Korean players and Melbourne have a player from Vietnam.

Now we 'know' (have been informed by enough people with ears close enough to the ground) that Mrdja is back, I gather Redmayne will be back and Clark will at the very least be coaching but probably playing too.

That means 19 signed up out of a potential 23. Wales would be the last possible foreigner. There would have to be two more u/21s in there - Lewis and Sherlock?

If we assumed all those players we would line up as

          Danny/Redders???

Bojic/Sherlock??? Wilko/Clark Doig/Boogs Heff/D'Apuzzo

        Travis/Porter Hutch/Huke

Elrich/Lewis???             Kwas/Caceres

Wales???/Dyl Simon/Mrdja???

The average age would be 25. Out of the 22 there would be four people 20 or under, 12 people 25 or under and 21 people 30 or under.

When you think of the season one squad when I think (could be wrong) that the average age was around 30-31 or slightly older, the relative stability of the playing roster and the perception that we have an aging squad this came as quite a surprise to me.

The transformation in age means we have lost a lot in experience. However, in the longer term this squad renewal was essential. Maybe there is more to being a manager than being an armchair critic?    ;)

From that lot, assuming all are at full fitness, my line up would be

Danny
Wilko Doig Boogs Heff
Huke
Elrich Travis Kwas
Dyl Simon

some of the kids have to be given a run or let go. one good game and they're basically set to go, they just need to get over the first hurdle. mind you, we can't afford to throw someone to the wolves as GVE did to jesse pinto...

I hope Brady gets a run this season, but it will be hard to get a run if results start going against us and there's alot of pressure on the team to perform and get points. I dont think Lawrie is the type to try new things when the chips are down.

Albinoleffes Esposito keen on playing in Australia
03.07.09 | Andrew Slevison

Albinoleffe teenager Christian Esposito is keen to play in Australia.

The 18-year old Adelaide-born midfielder is currently plying his trade in Italys Serie B with the northern club but has stated his intent to experience football in his homeland.

"I'd like to play in Australia and in the Asian Champions League," Esposito said from Bergamo.

"My club has allowed me to go and gain experience in another football world.

"I've heard so much about the club and now Australia has made its mark after the national team qualified for another World Cup."

Adelaide United and Central Coast Mariners are believed to be interested.

Don't care if he is on loan. This kid has all the right stuff in all the right places.
