Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He is no world beater but if he stays injury free he'll do a good old fashioned defensive job for you.

Good enough for me, that's what we need.

+1, we dont have that now so whatever he brings will be better

+2. Could this old doig teach Wilko & Nigel some new tricks?!

Nigel has his old man to teach him tricks.

One of the hardest defenders I have ever seen.

I cant find the link to it on the Manly Daily website, but this article by Phil Moss was printed in todays edition. Thought some might like to read it. Don't know where to put it either so Mod's feel free to move this.

Bozza's detractors verbal a maestro of team performance

Phil Moss

It's funny how people see things in different ways.
I had a lot of people come up to me after Sundays game against Sydney Olympic at Cromer Park and say they couldn't believe the amount of expletives that came out of Mark Bosnich's mouth during the game.
I have to be honest - all i heard come out of his mouth was brilliant information to his players - for the entire 90 minutes.
He may not be in tip top physical shape but he was good enough to be the difference on Sunday - everything he came for he grabbed cleanly to take the pressure off his defenders and everything he said was helpful to his teammates around and in front of him.
When his players needed firing up he was the voice that fired them up. When they needed settling, the tone in his voice changed drastically to calm the situation. When they needed direction, he directed intelligently - both verbally and with his own actions and decisions on the ball.
That we didn't overly test his mobility was dissapointing from my point of view but he was still good enough to thwart striker Josh Sama with a fine reflex save in the first halfand midfielder Keith Shevlin with a clinical one-on-one in the second half. It's fair to say he showed glimpses physically of why he played for two of the biggest clubs on the planet, but verbally he showed it in spades.
He was Olympics orchestratorfrom the back of the field and even those furthest from him listened to every word.
He was even telling his players where to throw the ball in during the last few minutes of the game to help wind down the clock and they listened and executed.
It can be the difference between players who make it and don't and gave everyone at Cromer Park who was either close enough or tried hard enoughto hear a real lesson in football.
At the end of the day, Olympic were not the better side than us during the their hard fought 2 - 1 victory but perhaps they got the points in the smarts department.

The rest of the article (not much, over typing) went on to talk about his team and their chances, but just from that we can see what Bozza brought to our team when he was there.
Interesting stuff from an opposition coach. Bozza should definitley be involved in some form with an A-League or national team. Too much knowledge and experience to let go.

I was living in the UK when Bozza was at his prime and at his lows, and he certainly was a phenomenon. He certainly has had serious self inflicted problems, however has grown in stature for overcoming and dealing with these. This man has nous and the ability to inspire others. Any club who attains his services as a coach or player would be in clover.

Bit of a shame that none of that rubbed off on any of our squad when he was here, would of been good if 'head down Wilko' had learnt a thing or two.
