ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

of course, kicking around ideas is why we cop shit.

not that our numbers are poor, our noise is worse, and we spend more time having arguments amongst ourselves than actually singing on matchdays.

if only we could stop kicking around ideas - why, we'd turn into fossa dei leoni overnight.

i'd suggest that a far more likely reason that we're shit is that people aren't willing to put forward ideas or make suggestions for fear of getting a shitcanning response like that one.

citing some invisible group that gives us shit as a reason not to do something won't improve anything. it's just a recipe for (more) apathy.

pfft supporters around the world are always donning players with nicknames. I dont see a problem with it. In fact i will make a good standard out of it.

did you read my post?

i didn't say a nickname will make us better. i said that not shitcanning every f**king suggestion that comes up will encourage people to try.

at the moment it's far easier to just join the shitcanning than to actually suggest anything, and your posts are the perfect example.

you're calling me out because i disagree with you on a forum? :piralaugh:

FFS, pull your own head in. when did i talk about every post of yours, and you personally shitcanning every suggestion?

i was talking about a trend on the forum, an example of which is visible in your two posts.

This is the guy we should be chasing for Marquee

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/a-league/glory-be--perth-in-hunt-for-recoba/2009/04/24/1240079862612.html

Seems Recoba is keen to play in Oz and for about $1.2Mill per season. Now given the choice of paying $1.2 for Recoba or $1.4 for Aloisi I know what I would prefer...... Interesting they seem to feel only Perth has the coin...

Its a no brainer really. Lets hope Singo and the rest of the money men put their hands in their pocket and chase him!

singo has distanced himself from the club and the others don't presently have the cash flow to spend a million on a player

Only chase Recoba if he's genuinely interested in playing as much game time as possible.

Last Uruguay v Australia game I saw, he walked a lot. It was a 'friendly', so it seemed his heart wasn't into the match.

May be wiser to not chase someone like him, I suspect he's hot and cold, and could be prone to prima donna antics both on and off field, and maybe just turn around and walk around the pitch thinking he's king shit & not really do much (ala Romario for Adelaide).

As for Singo, I'd be less inclined to want to have to go to him for any money and I can appreciate that the club should want to have it's own financial resources, not be the beneficiary of someone who publicly big notes himself about helping the Coast's team on the one hand, then says he wants an NRL team up here the next.

What happened to the old Newtown RL club after Singo had finished being their 'saviour', is something everyone should keep in mind about people who have so much money that they can use sporting clubs as 'play things'.

That club was never a financial giant, but the debt incurred satisfying a board led by Singo, that demanded a top flight team, left them broke and unable to compete in the top level of the RL comp.

He pumped them up for a few years, brought in Raudonikis, kept Hayward and Wilson at the club and gave them a better profile but in the end, someone had to foot the bill for all that extravagance.

We'd be silly to try and satiate someone like Singo by trying to bring out Timmy Cahill or Harry Kewell and then having to foot the bill somehow.
