Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

If you were looking for a Marquee (or v expensive player really) you could do worse than pick from either

Kanu (due to be released by Pompey, rumoured to be off to the middle east)
Darren Huckerby (released by Norwich and rumoured to be off to the US)
Burnley strike Ade Akinbiyi is wanted by Houston Dynamo

Not world beaters I agree but would easily do a job in the HAL.

Houston Dynamo already have 2 good strikers so Ade would most likely be looked at as back-up for the greatest team in the USA.

Also, Huckerby is already in the USA, but San Jose, not the greatest club (or city) and he is in his 2nd year, so could be an option for next year (or January given the MLS Season is all over on November 23rd and San Jose won't make the playoffs)

Not much to go from there, but it is good news that we are looking somewhere different. Is any reason none of the a league clubs scout africa? Any thing to do with visas or anything like that? Its just interesting considering some of the talent that has been unearthed there

I guess it would be a very hard continent to scout - expensive to there, dangerous at times and travelling around the parts can be difficult

Found this on 442. Could be a good option with Sasho leaving

+1 doubt it will happen

I wouldn't be too sure about that sort of confident rebuttal....

ATM, Bozanic is on loan to a Conference team, Woking FC from Reading.

If you read between the lines of his story over there, he has had a bout of glandular fever and now on loan to Woking. He has a contract with Reading from January 2007, allegedly for 2 1/2 years.

If he is not in favour with the people at Reading, and his only option is to play Conference Football at Woking, I bet he'd love a call from Lyall or Lawrie to see how he's feeling about it.

I kinda get the feeling that with a June transfer window opportunity, possibly a free transfer if his contract has expired with Reading, a chance to snap him up and get him to come home, consolidate his career, get some gametime at a higher level etc. might seem a decent proposition. It would certainly put pressure on Hutchinson and Caceres to perform better, and he could also drop down to Youth team if he is still young enough (?).

What I would love to see, if it could happen, would be Bozanic on the LM and Porter on the RM, and Matty Simon upfront, so the crowd could see the locals at the A-League level. It could build a local hero following, particularly if Gumps isn't re signed for this next season.

How did you get a confident rebutal from a sentence with the word doubt in it?

Ishida played for Olympic back in the day, so his English probably isn't too bad.

Kakou and Roy have been mentioned before - they're on trial with us, but the standard of the NC national side is somewhere a fair way below NZ. They may be pretty handy though, we'll see. If they sign we'll need some songs in French. :)

Nicky Travis has been mentioned as well - It would seem that he's had injury issues but is 22 and will be looking to get his career on track. Coming out here is a good move for him. He can stay under the watch of the Blades, get some experience at a reasonable club and move onward and upward. Unless he's perma-crocked of course - we've already filled our quota of perma-crocked forwards.

Good to see we are not being swayed by shonky agents peddling ageing brazilian stars such as Denilson, we going the smart route via New Caledonia!
