ok tyson, i didnt realise he was getting experience or the kind of experience he was getting. Do you reckon they will introduce him into the championship if they get relegated?

not sure really to be honest.

as far as i know, they have him under some new contract they created... which is a 2 year development program. i wouldnt be surprised if they wait until the 2 years is up if they stay in EPL, but if they do get relegated, they might bring him up.

all i know is that he is getting better and better. they love him.

Is Jacob Burns attacking, balanced or defensive as a centre mid? Because I dont expect weve seen the end of these rumors if he is an attacking player? havent seen him before but his credentials might work for us

On wikipedia it just says Central Mid it also says currently he is under contract whith Romanian team Unirea Urziceni. Does this mean he might not come home ?

I heard the JA Sydney rumour too, but I suspect it's very unlikely - they courted him but so what? I'd sincerely doubt that if he goes, (which I'd say that as there is still no news is probably pretty likely) that its not to go and get a few mmore large overseas paychecks before he winds down his career. Otherwise to pass up an ACL spot to be with Sydney, where presumably as marquee he still wouldn't be getting any more than I'm sure we would have offered him? Just doesn't make much sense does it? Only thoughts is to why it could at all be sweetened would be that he's offered the captaincy and maybe there is some sort of sponsorship deal that will come along with a Sydney signing that would be more lucrative than what we can bring to the table... perhaps? Thoughts?

Yeah I doubt the Sydney rumor is true and I do want him to play for us next year, I reckon the off season would do him the world of good since I think he was carrying a knee injury. If he leaves us it will be to go overseas, where he will go is anyones guess but that is the more likely scenario.

JA has been in talks with Sydney - it's not just a rumour

Considering they paid $1,000,000 for Juninho why wouldn't they offer the same to Aloisi?

what do you reckon the likelyhood of him going to Sydney is?

depends what offers he gets........does he want a 1 year deal? or 2? or 3?

What are we offering compared to other clubs?

Does he want Champions League Football?

He knows what he wants and he'll take the best offer.

What if he went to Newcastle? They spent $400k - $500k on Jardel why not top it up to $1,000,000? They can offer Champions League football, perhaps a 2-3 year deal? Horrible thought but who knows?

I didn't think he'd go to another A-League club.

He's been looking pretty p**sed off at foul-play and apparently unfair refereeing lately.
So the latest rumours are now Sydney and Newcastle?
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em - lol.

the rumors arent and never were Newcastle. They are offloading players left, right and centre because they cant afford them. Couldnt see them able to afford someone expensive like Aloisi.
I reckon they will build a team around Joel Griffiths next year and release anyone else that is too expensive i.e. Musialik, Bridge, Durante and possibly Tarek will get the chop

and lol this thread has turned into the a league rumors thread and the a league rumors thread has turned into this one

Looks like he's going.

Just another mercenary in my opinion. He's already got loads of money. I would have thought the lifestyle here and ACL would have meant more than a few easy bucks.

It's the one thing I hate about Football. Oh, for the days when players were loyal to clubs.

Aloisi touted as Sydney's new star
29 February 2008 | 11:50 - SBS EXCLUSIVE

Marquee... Aloisi will make the move south from Gosford to the SFS (Getty Images)

TWG understands that Socceroos striker John Aloisi will be Sydney FC's marquee player for the 2008/09 campaign, bringing to an end his successful spell with reigning Premiers Central Coast Mariners.

After an acrimonious end to the third season of the A-League in last Sundays Grand Final 1-0 defeat to Newcastle Jets, the 32-year-old is poised to continue his illustrious career on home soil - shunning talk of a possible return to football overseas.

Aloisi would form a potent strike force at the Sydney Football Stadium along with Alex Brosque and Olyroos acquisition Mark Bridge - from Newcastle Jets - and his capture should spell the end of Juninho's time in the harbour city.

The Brazilian World Cup winning playmaker endured an arduous first season in the A-League with a raft of injuries affecting his performances - although he was still voted the eighth best player in the competition by his peers.
