Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Heard yesterday that Tommy is on his way Tardistan on a two-year deal.

Not confirmed yet, but has been mentioned a couple of times since Caceres signed for us.

Wonder who we'd sign to replace him???

I know Sarkies is off-contract and isn't probably going to get another.

Apparently Felipe is too, but out of those 2 id go for Sarkies, We'd have to compete with GCG and NT for them I guess and Felipe is likely to piss off and never be seen again

i'd take Felipe for sure and I have heard very good things about Ty Owens so hopefully he will be added to the squad

Im just thinking would the combined wages of Tommy and Gumps equate to that of say Ty Owens and Fred or some other good 200k+ player. Because thats my suggestion

Im sure every Australian expat has been considered by every A League side when they are short on players in a position. The only thing i can see would be a loan deal for Oliver Bozanic because he isnt getting much experience at Reading, though when they get relegated to the championship this might change and then again I dont know if Bozanic is a suitbale playmaker or just a winger. Maybe this is where Lawrie and Lyall are looking at Asian players. But I reckon we should budget 200k+ and sign Ty Owens as replacements for Tommy and Gumps and who knows we might get lucky and wont have to spend that much

Well Asia would be good to tap into, and probably not too expensive from some parts too

The Persek Kediri left back from the last ACL might be a good support for Heff, and he had some pace too!

id only buy a fullback that can play on both sides though

There's bound to be some decent players in the MLS.
No A-League clubs have really considered USA have they?

bozanic is getting experience at reading. i dont know how he isnt...
i think they are loaning him to a lower division team...im assuming its a bit better than reserves and that they dont think he is ready for premier league yet. i know they are being careful with their timing of introducing him into the EPL. he did, however, get a few runs with their 1st team during trials and managed to carve up... scored a goal that ended up being offside and then scored another that got deflected by a striker, and the striker got the goal on his name.

i dont think he will come back to the a-league any time soon. i could b wrong tho, id love to see him playing for us.

agreed. buying a specialist LB just to cover heff is a little silly and just a waste. the only reason he got injured this time was because of Ufukurself Talay's tackle.
