ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

juniniho? waste of money IMHO.... money could definitley be better spent!!

I won't disagree but he was able to make Brosque look half decent (and thats an achievement only outdone by making Holland and Griffiths look human rather than hunched over Neanderthals - next thing you know Newcastle will discover fire)

Fred would be good as well....

yeah Fred was good at gift wrapping the ball with the bow and sending it to the strikers and putting it in the net

Just had this juicy tidbit come my way.

Word is that Gumps had a clause in his contract that he had to start a certain amount of games to get a new contract (similar to the Reynoldson fella at the Knights).  I've read this a couple of times before on this thread.  However, further intrigue has it that a certain someone high up in the Mariners organisation has a coaching clinic that isn't doing so well because all the kids are going to Gumps.

Add to that, that Gumps was due to start on Sunday but after pouring a bucketload over the McKinna late last week he was put back on the bench (a mistake IMHO).

There was also something about Andre having to ask people what he was being called at training and discovering it was none to pretty.  Find that last one a bit hard to stomach myself.

Before you all start asking for sources.  It was relayed to me from someone who heard it 1st hand (I know it sounds like my sister's boyfriends cousins dogs ex owner).

Just thought it would be interesting to know at least what one of the stories doing the rounds is.

I'd like Andre to stay, it'll be f***ing hard without him (we've seen that over the last couple of months)

Considering that before Viddy announced his retirement we were mooting moving him under the salary cap, and the fact that Gumpy and Tommy P are likely to move on, I think we have quite a bit of cap-space to move with.

I have a feeling Lawrie will reel in atleast one, possibly 2 foreign (Turnbull alluded to Asian International) signings, along with a new Marque player and a State League buy.

If Aloisi moves anywhere else in Australia he's moving to an inferior club, why move?!

I would never boo him though.

i for one would not be booing aloisi next year IF he isnt at the mariners

we probably need a new GK as well

despite some objections id want to try out Trott and Redmayne for pre-season and if that is a disaster we can then bring in a fresh keeper

Heard a similar story first hand.
Looks like someone inside has spat the dummy.

Good luck Gumps!

haha. i think you misunderstood my intent in that post.

i was meaning that it seems certain rules apply and dont apply for certain clubs and that you never know what the FFA are going to pull out of their dirty bag of tricks.

also, wasnt aloisi signed as an injury replacement? does that make a difference?

Tyson - its an interesting question (and I know what you are referring to)

But

In other seasons when Guests like Carbone and Romario came did any payments fit under the cap?

Loans aren't included, at least not in 2007-08

then you could construct a squad with loan deals that would be worth more than what you could afford under the cap i.e. thinking of both Hernandez and Patafta, melbourne could be trying to start that
