I think Pasfield is a done deal. The only reason I say that is their CEO was on a pre-game show a few weeks back more or less confirming he has signed for us.

Heard from a never before wrong source that we signed a new striker starting in January he is Norwegian ... and I am not sure whether this year or some time ago he was the leading goal scorer in the Norwegian league..

Also heard from a very reliable source that we were looking for a European striker. So I wouldn't be surprised if your source continues to be correct with this news.

Exciting stuff. But do we need him with Kwasnik in our team?

From Wiki.
Which one has the best name?

2005: Ole Martin Årst (Tromsø I.L.) 16 goals
2006: Daniel Nannskog (Stabæk I.F.) 19 goals
2007: Thorstein Helstad (S.K. Brann) 22 goals
2008: Daniel Nannskog (Stabæk I.F.) 16 goals
2009: Rade Prica (Rosenborg BK) 17 goals
2010: Baye Djiby Fall (Molde FK) 16 goals

As long as he is quick, skilful and nimble, and intelligent, I'll be happy, if he is another lump up front then no thanks (have to say that I do like Arnie's track record on overseas players. He can replace Mrdja and we can hang on to Kwas.

I hope there is some validity in what your source says but let me throw my 2 cents worth in. I was lucky enough to be in the owners box during the recent Mariners vs CGU game, along with the likes of PT, Lawrie and the CEO, John McKay. It was exciting to be privvy to some of the conversations that were going on. It would be unethical to relay on this forum what topics were being discussed but I will say what topics weren't being discussed... and a Norwegian striker was one of them.

I'm not saying that the rumour is false, I'm just saying that there was no buzz amongst the power brokers a couple of week ago. One would think that if Norway's leading goal scorer was coming, then surely there'd be the odd comment... especially given the circumstances of that game where we should've been about 5 nil up at half time - had we had a decent striker.

If it is true, they would have plenty of other opportunities to make the odd comment about it.
They club is known for being secretive about signings so I can't see why this one would be any different... they may have not said anything because you were there? Just a thought.

I guess we can only speculate at this stage. I've just taught myself to never get too hyped up over a signing until it is on their website or someone from the club publicly announces it.

You may well be right my source without giving away gender comes from those mentioned in you post above plus coaching staff plus senior players ... there that makes at least 10 officials ... anyway my source is the girl / boy friend of a child of one of the above mentioned 10....

The girl or boy said to my friend guess what Dad said..

How long have Victory got Kruse for? If he's off contract come the end of season, I'd break the bank for that little bastard.

We pretty much broke the bank with the players we have. Kruse would be way beyond what we can afford.

The fact that they players are flying back from Perth on the red-eye tonight shows how skint we are.

I always thought that Qantas paid for HAL flights as part of their sponsorship deal but I am obviously wrong.

Whatever happened to the Qantas - A-league partnership to provide flights? Or did that never exist?

That's quite interesting if true but it goes against what Matt Ryan said midweek about the club providing the best accommodation whilst away to keep the team in good condition.

Qantas pays for flights but not accommodation.

Going by red-eye saves accommodation costs for about twenty people. Twenty times two hundred-odd dollars for beds plus meals would probably save around five thousand dollars.
