ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Unfortunately we don't have set up the very expensive text message service to send straight out but after yesterday we are looking into this.

. sorry to drag up an old topic ... but it shows how far behind i am on my reading

. many members will not have known or understood this ... particularly since we have received bulk messaging from the club in the past

... and that was before we had an owner who made his fortune in the telecommunications industry

Shaun,

I don't have a problem with the game being postponed (it was logical) and realise the decision was made as soon as possible (on the day) and also realise the issues you guys have with logistics. The one thing that really annoyed me was fronting up to the pre-game and there was not even a note, let alone a representative from the club to explain the situation.

People that are turning up three hours before the scheduled kick-off to attend an event organised by the club (not the FFA or Fox) were not afforded the courtesy of an explanation - we were only greeted with a sign showing 'closed for private function'. I know you are busy and can't be expected to get everything right ... but I was disappointed that nobody from the club had the wherewithal to think of the members that would be arriving.

For us it wasn't a huge inconvenience ... we probably lost 1.5 hours travel time and rushed through things in the morning we shouldn't have (it was worse for others). But we haven't been 'bothered' to find the time to make another pre-match function since (if they are even being held).

It was difficult for us (with no authority) to try and explain to other fans what was (or was not going on) and particularly the family that had traveled up early from Penrith took some convincing.

For what it's worth, it seems Sydney fans want Arnold out, and they don't even like Crawley.

If we were to get the band back together, we could have Walmsley as TD looking after the signing of talented kids, Arnie calling the shots for the first team, Crawley sharpening up the keepers and Hutch learning the ropes as assistant...
What about that other bloke that used to do our fitness? maybe he`ll be back too....lol

First time poster

Maybe this needs its separate thread but with Shaun online (and respect for this) I have some direct questions....

2015/16 as a Central Coast Mariners supporter has seen the most turgid and pathetic performance by a football team in Australia's history.

It has been disgusting and disgraceful and a culmination of the asset stripping and running down of our once proud club.

Now we all hear the crying poor from the club and I read now that because of the $900,000 we get from Valencia from the Ryan transfer we will now turn a small profit for this year which will now allow us to invest on the squad.

So, what about next year when we don't have a silver bullet. When the effect of people finally walking with their feet takes effect, what will change next season? Why should we believe this?

Leaving aside my personal suspicions re MC's end game for the Mariners, I ask you Shaun, what do you say to the Mariners fans who have had to put up with this and pay their money this year?

Because I'm sure that you are aware that people are starting to talk with their feet and your lies about the match days not turning a profit are actually now starting to come true. Saturday's attendance of 6,383 in perfect weather against Sydney FC is an indication of the level of dissatisfaction and don't dare you blame the fans for this, that crowd was entirely of MCs making. People have had enough!!!!

I hear that PS says we need four players next season - are you serious that you think that is all we need?. Can you honestly see that being sufficient to turn this absolute disgrace of a team around? When you have sold three of our best players this season (Reddy, Fitzy and Caceres) and only replaced them with schoolkids and a over-the-hill pensioner who wasn't even in the country for Saturday's match (an absolute gimick)

I'll state my position clearly - Pay the Salary Cap!!!

It's all we expect for a fighting chance. We understand we can't have expensive marquees (or any marquee) but if MC isn't prepared to underwrite the club to pay the full salary cap (as paid by the FFA to the clubs) then he should hand the licence back and get the FFA to find someone who will make a commitment.

The club is currently under-investing in the club by $390,000. Despite the fact we are now a club of last resort due to MC's chronic mismanagement and we will have to pay overs next year, we should still be able to get the minimum SEVEN players we need to be competitive next year if you send the cap - A Goal Keeper, Two CBs, 2 mids and two Strikers.

And, PLEASE, when you are at it, get a new manager. One who can coach and not someone chosen for just toeing the company line

And I do not expect ANY of our decent players to be sold. Mitch, Pablo, Monty, Rose and Roux are the only players who are barely of first team A League standard. Izzo and Rory are simply not good enough

I have continued to support this club through thick and thin but this season has been simply unacceptable. I, and I suspect many other ST holders, will be watching the transfer activity very very closely this summer. I will not be renewing next season unless I see a genuine commitment to the team from our owners.

Multi, I suspect ;)

& the 'red-herring' of Pablo .... c'mon

I have never posted before here and this will be my last

I challenge you to not be completely and utterly outraged by what we have had served up this year, the worst part is it was all part of their plan....

We shall see at membership time I guess.

I'm happy to confirm that I am 100% OUT until CCM demonstrate that they are serious about having a football club - I'm also happy to acknowledge the howls of outrage from the clique on here while respecting their opinions.

Not sure he hasnt written anything that hasnt been said in other threads, clubs facebook, directly to the club etc etc.

The club is silent about TW because he reports directly to PS (I know, crazy business model 101). No one is this country can touch him.

He has no KPI's and his boss is 12,000 km away. Sign me up for a job like that :)

Asset stripping? You need assets to go asset stripping. He's putting his hand in his pocket far more than any of us are.

[Edit - not true amd I'm a dope]And Pablo is the artist formerly known as Keensy. Changed his forum name back in the Coastie Boys days when all the "can confirm" bullshit was going on.[/edit]

So it seems from these arguments that these "fans" want the Club to spend beyond its means and go broke (as almost happened) or they will withdraw their support and let the Club slowly die from lack of support.

And then they take offence, when out of frustration, their stupid logic is vigorously challenged.

Keensy changed his username to Paolo ;) not Pablo.
