Cheers Greenlig. Pretty amazing how we can watch these forever Mariners - like Mile, Matty and Tommy going on to be such incredible players. And I don't think we've seen the best of them yet. Hopefully we have many more such to come.

Ryan dropped as Valencia crash to third defeat in a row:

Australia's Mat Ryan was left on the bench for the first time this season as Valencia went down 3-2 to Real Betis at the Mestalla.

Ryan had started the first two La Liga matches for Valencia this season, conceding five goals, but was replaced by Brazilian Diego Alves for this match.

It is unclear who is Valencia's number 1 at this stage. Ryan returned from international duty with Australia this week, while Alves stayed in Valencia and completed all training sessions.

Daniel McBreen has decided to keep the boots on next year and play another season with Northern NSW club Edgeworth as he approaches his 40th birthday.

The former A-League Golden Boot and Joe Marston Medal winner was in fine form this year and helped the Eagles to both the minor premiership and grand final titles.

McBreen bagged two goals in the 2-1 NNSW NPL grand final win over Broadmeadow Magic while also heelping Edgeworthreach the last 16 of the FFA Cup, where they were knocked out by Western Sydney.

McBreen, who has played professionally in Romania, Scotland, England, Australia and China, told FourFourTwo he is still enjoying his football.

“Probably the smart move would be to quit this year after we won everything and did well in the FFA Cup,” the 39-year old striker said.

“But everyone who’s retired before me has said if you’re still enjoying it, keep playing because you’ll regret it. I am. Good bunch of guys, Zaney’s a good manager, he lets me have a few days off here and there when I need it.

“So I’ll go round again, probably the crowds that were telling me this year that I was too old and to retire will probably be right next year!”

McBreen said Edgeworth’s September 4 grand final victory was one of the most memorable of his career.

“It’s always good to win a grand final, I hadn’t won one in the NPL before,” he said.

“Someone asked me how it ranked in terms of the A-League and to be honest, it probably gives you a sweeter feeling because all the people around the club are volunteers. They give their own time and they do it for the love of the game.

“To see those people getting so excited and happy about it, it does give you a really good feeling. It does rank right up there.”

Edgeworth head south to Melbourne this weekend to take on Bentleigh Greens in the NPL finals series.

“That’ll be a tough game,” McBreen admitted.

“We’ll speak to our ex-captain at Edgeworth Luke Walker, who plays at Green Gully, to try and get us some info on them. We’re going down to Melbourne to play them and hopefully we’ll do our best to try and win that game.

“We know it will be tough but it’s not going to be a trip away – we’re going there to win it.”

Edgeworth has claimed minor premiership and grand final trophies in the past two seasons in Northern NSW and McBreen said the aim is for another double in 2017.

“We’ve got to get the triple-double,” the centre forward said.

“We know it’s going to be hard, we’ve seen all the other teams step up again. We’ve got to make sure we’re ready for that.

“I know that there’s a bit of banter after the game on Sunday night and straight after the captain threw it out there and said let’s do the triple-double. And everyone said of course, that’s what we’re going to try and do.

“If we can do that that will be absolutely amazing. We’ll be doing our best to try and do it.

Tommy about to take on Messi. He must be so STOKED. Keep doing us all proud Tommy.

* God damnit, he's left him on the bench. Best on field first half against Rangers. So annoying.

Scottish football is EFL 3rd tier maybe? Celtic are mid table championship at best hardly unexpected as Barca were $1 08

Celtic were horrible. They were basically on there own 18yrd box all game and just letting Barca do what ever they wanted. Tommy would have been a waste.

Rodgers must be wondering why he took this job.

Some cracking Barca goals though. Suarez chest and left foot volley was unbelievable as was Iniesta's volley.

Celtic missed a penalty at 1-0 down. Saved a stutter start weak shot
