Rogic re-signs with Celtic despite reported interest from other clubs:

Tom Rogic in action for Celtic against Barcelona in the ICC tournament.

Despite reported interest from the likes of Arsenal, Fiorentina and Valencia, Australia's Tom Rogic has re-sign with Celtic, contracting him to the club until 2019.

Rogic joined the Scottish Champions in 2013 and after a breakout season in 2015-2016 was considered hot property.

Fairfax reported in May that Premier League giants Arsenal were interested in acquiring the 23 year-old, along with La Liga's Valencia and Serie A's Fiorentina.

Rogic scored 10 goals and produced seven assists in 39 matches last season and the three year extension will put an end to any speculation for now.

The former Central Coast Mariners midfielder expressed his delight to Celtic's website.

"I’m happy here and happy to commit my future to the club that I’m proud of, and I’m just really excited for the future," Rogic said.

Celtic appointed a new manager, Brendan Rodgers, in May and the former Liverpool coach has only started Rogic once this season in the first four matches.

Despite the sporadic playing time Rogic said working under Rodgers was one of the reasons he re-signed.

“The manager’s had a very positive impact on the club so far and I’m sure we will continue to build on that,” he said.

“It’s a great time to be at the club, and for me to have my future sorted and know that I’m going to be working with the manager for the coming seasons is great.

“The manager’s had a say in me re-signing here, and he has played a big role in me deciding to stay here, and you can tell he’s a top-class manager.

"I still feel that I have a lot to give and I know that, under him, I can develop and progress and contribute to the team’s success.”

Tommy made Celtic's starting side, this morning in their 5-Nil win in the Scottish League Cup against Scott McDonald's Motherwell & WHAT A GAME HE HAD, fcuking blinder!

Scored the opening goal at 21 mins.
Made a nice angled run into the box from the D, then with his back to goal & a one touch control of a lofted pass 10 yrds out - spins 180° and volleys it into the back of the net Pure class !

I lost count of the amount of shots he had on goal (@least 8/9 in the 1st half alone) all of which had Motherwell's GK diving left and right pulling off saves.

Scored again at 76' for the brace with a tap in.

Whereas, check out Scott Macdonalds attempt at an open goal -no keeper at the end - OMG !

If Rodgers wants success in his first season with the 'Hoops', he'd be wise to be starting Tommy regularly.

If TR keeps up this form, the big clubs of Europe will be salivating and we'll (CCM) be 'counting the ca$h for days' - from his next transfer fee.

How good was that first goal. Go Tommy go. As long as he's playing in that kind of form he'll end up somewhere very exciting. Only a matter of time. Really looking more and more complete as a player, his runs and positioning were excellent as well.

Mile Jedinak's rumoured $7.7 million move from Crystal Palace to Aston Villa looks more than likely after he apparently underwent a medical yesterday.

After playing the full 90 mins against West Brom on the weekend, Jedinak tossing his shirt into the crowd was perhaps ominous to the many Palace fans that he is leaving, with the gesture seen as Mile saying 'good-bye'.

Good move for the big fella, will get the respect he deserves from a Coach that 'wants & rates' him.

Jedi is the sort of player that will repay that faith with 'performance'

Will get good, regular game time in the Championship & will relish the chance to lead another club 'back-up' to the Premier League & stick it to Alan Pardew.

He's definitely more than Championship quality and should thrive. Reading the World Soccer mag team previews, Tommy Oar and Jason Davidson got slammed by there fans so hope Mile goes better

Jason Davidson is not a very impressive player from what i've seen. I think he is lucky his Dad was so well regarded.

Rogic praised as Celtic put four past St Johnstone:

Tom Rogic is the name on the lips of Celtic fans as the Australian midfielder delivered an outstanding performance in his side's 4-2 win against St Johnstone.

I watched this game (love now having access to see Tommy in the SPL via BeIN Sports on Fox) and as the above linked article states - he had a great game.

However, I think Tommy's previous peformance was an absolute blinder by comparison, in Celtic's UCL 1st-Leg game against Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

He played out of his skin, with him scoring in the 9th minute of their 5-2 demolition of the Israeli's in Glasgow.

Looking forward to the away 2nd-Leg game on Wednesday morning.
