ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie, you don't live here any more. Stay out of the pantry.

Zwanny, Ryan, Pedj, Ollie and Bernie, then Marvin and now Arnie. How much can a little club bear? :innocent:

Well, I wish GA all the best in Asia. He leaves us a cupboard full of trophies.

Now to see how how Phil Moss goes.

Is Zwaanswijk going to move from the youth team to be assistant coach?

Well... Walmsley's back in the country... Maybe Zwanny stays in place and Tony as assistant... Or vice-versa... I think it's a bit early to be talking about Zwanny as a coach.. Besides, once again, if anyone's deserved a go, I think it's Mossy :) I'm confident he'll guide us on to greater heights...

I think it is a bit early for Zwanny to be assistant coach. Rudan as assistant in between Moss and Zwanny would be ideal. It would give Rudes some more experience before taking over Sydney.

Move forward a few years. How do you reckon a Zwanny coached CCM would go against a Rudes coached Sydney?

Im reading Tokyo FC is the club, though they are denying it regardless that they have recently announced they won't be renewing coach Ranko Popovic's contract.

Nagoya Grampus (with Josh Kennedy) is apparently a good chance though Stojkovic is a legend there and I don't see the results that bare for them though they have finished mid-table this season...

Update: and as I read, appears Stojkovic's contract will not be renewed also. via http://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2013/10/03/soccer/grampus-wont-renew-stojkovic-deal/#.UoNUQJQpaVM

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kashiwa Reysol in the mix either, seeing Nelsinho suddenly quit earlier this season, spitting the dummy to come back a game later.

More.

The club is bigger than any individuals

I said to Arnie at the Grand Final victory parade that "when he goes, wherever he goes, that will be my second favourite team in the world". Waiting with baited breath to see who it is :headbounce:

Will be interesting times if he comes back to Bluetongue to coach against us in the ACL.

It was always going to happen sooner or later. Round 5, round 25, whatever.

Systems, structures, succession.

Mossy to top job. We've apparently got Oscar Gonzalez to CCMA youth TD, he might get an upgrade to full TD. Walmsley's around, Zwaanswijk's around - I think I'd rather not have Rudes. Recruit, develop and promote from within wherever possible.

We're set up to be unique, idiosyncratic and ruthless. Let's keep it that way.

If it is a J-League club, will Arnie be working at the highest level overseas for any Aussie coach ?
I can't think of any others in a better league.

As mentioned by Dibo, theres probably a get out clause where a foreign top flight club comes calling the Mariners won't stand in the way and terminate the contract.

We'll save a bit of money in not having to pay Arnie, he can't be the cheapest manager in the A-League, plus I reckon Mossy knows a thing or two. Arnie has built a good unit of coaches, plus the Lord Mayor could always come back...
The last bit was not funny.

Terrible but not overly surprising news.

Thanks Arnie and good luck. You have been brilliant for us and took us to a new level. Maybe the fact that we are a selling club was just too soul destroying to see your hard work torn apart every year.

However, the way we have started this year.....maybe just maybe.....an ambitious young coach might just save the season for us with some structural changes Arnie seamed scared to try.

Clearly Mossy is a true football man and I hope an independent thinker.

Dutchy to AM and Gumpy to Yoof coach.

Vegalta Sendai. Beautiful stadium with crazy supporters to fill it, all wearing the right colours (plus a touch of red). Fitting for the great man.

With Arnold in charge sources also revealed Vegalta Sendai may even consider having its preseason in Australia on the Central Coast of New South Wales in February given the side usually travels to southern Japan before the start of each season.

Interesting.
