ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie, you don't live here any more. Stay out of the pantry.

1. Will he get a fair well game
2. Who will he poach from CCM - Trent? Duke? Wee Mac?

Goodbye & good luck. Even if the deal falls through he can't possibly coach for us anymore. The players will have mentally checked out from Arnie now.

Rudan is an interesting name coming up in the first article.

CCM seem to have had the turnover in mind for a while & setup up the structure accordingly.

So was it some of Rudan's mate's pushing for him to get an A-League gig or is it to put pressure on Cranky Franky @ SFC.

It has been the plan for a while for it to be Mossy & was a little surprising when he went for the Wellington Job but it might have also been a hurry up Arnie or get some experience going for the job.

Rudan might be a good assistant & lets face more Fox sports love for CCM but as others have said it's only so he can take the job at SFC when they decide they have had enough of Farina

Funny that this should come up today. I was having lunch with a colleague whose daughter is friends with one of the kids of the coaching staff. It's a tenuous link, I know, but my colleague said that the only thing that kept Arnie at the Mariners this season was the chance to get the 'roos gig. Arnie thought it was painfully obvious that Holger wasn't going to last the distance.

Low and behold... I come home to be confronted with this news. I can only think that my colleague's info was on the money.

So, Ange gets the top job... now Arnie's outta here. Good luck to him. He doesn't owe us anything... I just wish the timing was different (like the year was 2016 :) )

Very interesting - Arnie said after it was clear if not already Ange's job I didn't go for it. Was obviously pissed they didn't even interview him.

That said it seems to be the end of the J-League season & they getting in the new coaches which makes sense so can't really blame Arnie for the timing hear but is a nice co-incidence with the Aussie job passing him by.

Personally think he has better defensive systems than Ange which we will need at the WC.

Actually, all the talk about Rudan has me a bit curious... Not being particularly aware of Australian football outside of the A-league, my only real knowledge of him is what i can get from wikipedia and Fox sports... Other than his relatively high PR profile, what is the real justification for him being particularly qualified as a coach?
It seems like, much the same as with Zwanny, there're quite a few people out there who think that "good player" = "Good coach"... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Zwanny or Rudan aren't going to be good coaches, I just haven't actually seen any proof yet, and I'd like to think that that'd be a necessity before actually letting them play around with our beloved yellow team.

Also, once again... I really like it that we're not going with the coach-of-the-season approach that has been the hallmark of these discussions in the past. It's a serious weakness of the A-league that so many teams target the same 3 coaches every year, Adelaide has it right in trying something different... It's the only way the skill-level will keep improving.

He just won the National Premier League championship coaching Sydney United. So he has some form.

ETA Don't want him at CCM though.

Zwaanswijk is quite the excellent tactician I heard somewhere and was miles ahead of others doing the coaching accreditations with him, think he'll end up assistant with the view to head coach after Moss

Fair enough then :) as stated, it was a genuine question based on lacking knowledge.

But yes, personally, I think the new setup should be Mossy and Zwaany, prepping Z for a future takeover... Imagine being a club that produces awesome coaches and players! :)

I'm not convinced Rudan would want to hang around as a 2IC. He seems to have moved up the chain to be next inline should someone get sacked. Especially at SFC where he served as a player. He would also be a popular choice @ WSW if Poppa went anywhere.

WeeMac = nothing special in Japan. He is amazing in a league where close control, good dribbling ability etc. is hard to come by.

Duke = he seems like a level headed guy, and J-league is a sidestep for him. I would think he is better off heading to Europe!
And he has had interest from Europe.

Hulk is one of the few foreign players to successfully use J-league to launch himself.

Sainsbury = no good footballing reason for him to go there. By all accounts it would be personal reasons...which is never a good idea :p
And once more, he has had previous interest from Europe!

Not many other J-league quality players in our team right now...
Maybe Rose...maybe Anderson (needs some polishing).

Flores didn't like China did he?
I get the feeling he really loves the Aussie lifestyle!
If not, he would be a decent target.

I'd think he might target some ex-Mariners?
Wilko, Griffiths, Bernie,

Or even some older Socceroos?

Didn't Milicivic (I have no idea what his name is) leave Heart after they chose Aloisi over him???

I would think he would be a very good chance of taking over at WSW when Poppa leaves!

Source bottle? Freudian slip, deliberate play upon words, solecism?

My biggest fear about this is that Arnie will take Clarkey with him. IMO, Clarkey is irreplaceable. Arnie controlled the tactics, but it was Clarke that controlled the players fitness and injury prevention program. Compared to other teams, I reckon we had the least number of injuries last year.... thanks largely to A. Clarke.

I hope - and suspect - that we would have heard a lot more grumbling about it if that was going to happen... Clarkie is bound to go sooner or later, I would think he's too good to not to, although it'd be nice to be wrong... But I would've thought that that would likely have lead to a less amicable separation from the club. I think the best we can hope for, is bleeding talent in drips rather than haemmorhaging and that seems to be how it is right now... Let's hope it stays like that.

I do agree with this, especially when looking at blokes like Danny and Patty Z, but I also think the small amount of injuries is due to all the young and not so tired bodies we have.
