Yeah it does look like Kossie is going to fire up the long ball this year with the amount of strikers he has. The egos of Brosque, Bridge and Aloisi dictate that they would have to start every game so I guess 3 forward is the go for Sydney or one of those 3 would be looking for a new club ASAP
he was already doing the long ball crap v3. We got results but wasn't pretty football like under branko.
I hope our midfield will improve vastly or it will be another loong season.

For me Serious I guess it's really because we won the plate with him as our striker that I feel any gratitude and also because he seemed like a good man off the field too. He also I thought helped bolster our numbers and supporter base - But like you say, I guess that's still going to be coming up too short for a lot of people though and pretty sure I'm going to sit in the minority on this one  ;)

Re polite way to Piss off Dundee.
LOL, oh, I thought it was a polite way of saying, thanks for pissing off cause I actually think your doing us a favour  :innocent:

Whether JA was asking too much or CCM was offering too little, i trust the board's judgement.

Either way i know they'll use their budget and squad positions wisely.

id rather have the whole bay turn their backs to him than boo him.

he can shrug a boo off, it is meaningless.

i think thats a good idea, problem is trying to get every1 else to do it as well...

Also totally agree with the board's decision, im sure we will get someone much better and more valuable :D

and has anyone considered he mite be cursed with never winning a grand final? He's played all over europe and never won any silverware, specially a grandfinal..

good that he's left us i think :p

I understand what you're getting at Sensei, but none of that seemed to matter to him in the end, did it??

No offence intended, was just using an abbreviation of your user name - Dundee Utd FC & a Mariner - My posts are too long as it is :)
I'm now assuming there's a rival Dundee club in Scottish football. If you wish to clarify further about it, cool, pm me though so we don't bore the other thread readers.

Well... it still may have, but your right in the end clearly not enough. I understand your point, in the end he made a clear choice, and it could well be that your absolutely right and he's nothing more than a money hungry swine,  but for me without knowing his actual life issues and needs, what's true, or to what degree its true... its hard to come down so clearly for me.
That said, in all honesty I guess I'm emotionally bouyed by the fact that I sincerely think its for the best for the team, so I'm content just to smile, say thanks and wave goodbye, because I think something better has now become possible.

I can't wait to see his face when we beat them next season

I hope CCM thrash SYD FC next season and JA gets sent off for 2 dives

I also hope for this.

Leaving a club for your rivals......boo him.
now,
would u boo bridge?
Silly if u did as he scored the winner at the grand final, and has been a aset all season.

Boo Bridge ? you bet. Hardly been an asset all season. 20 games for 5 goals. 1 of those a penalty, another a scrambled lucky goal. A strike rate only slightly better than A.Griffiths.

Hmmmm... have to say I wish he left for Sydney with his poor record just one game earlier though ;D
But hey, would have been nice if Aloisi had scored us the GF winner before he took off to bloody Bling aswell!

Take a look at Cockrills article

http://www.smh.com.au/news/a-league/fc-net-14m-aloisi/2008/03/02/1204402272330.html

So Aloisi is getting$1.4Mill. Man I am so glad we didn't persue this.

I have to laugh - so $500k was too much in Kemmeny's eyes for half a season but $1.4Mill is good money for a full season.

Our bid was obviously very close to the $1mill mark if this figure is correct...

Also seems Juni is very interested in signing for us..... - could be that creative spark we need. Would be bloody funny to see him and Mile next to each other in the midfiled (size wise)....

That would surely put him in the top five highest paid footballers of any code in Australia, wouldn't it? Thank christ we let him go.

Good luck to him in the future.

I really do not think he deserves the animosity being shown in this thread.
His short contract was up, he is a professional and will take the offer that suits him best.

It is not as though he owes us anything.

I personally think the decision the club made was for the best.

Sydney will need him, because without Juninho Brosque is very ordinary. ;)

Is this official yet? Yesterday I was hearing that JA had been looking at a few contracts but was yet to sign one? Has he signed with Syd now?

There's a press conference at 11am today where he will be unveiled. So yes, he has signed.

I would  be sooo happy if Juninho came!
I would rather have Juninho over Aloisi any day (note: I am same height as Juninho, same build, similar playing style- although no where near as good ofcourse).

I agree.

He came as an injury replacement player when we needed him, albeit for good money.

He scored goals, that got us to the Premiership and Asia

Did his bit with the community - and remember the hours he spent at the Members Xmas Party signing autographs for little and big kids.

He's not a Coastie. He is a professional footballer! He will move around - isn't the first and won't be the last to move from us to other HAL clubs.

So he's with the Blingers ... so he is the opposition and can be barracked against (I am happy to) but frankly some of the stuff on here is disgusting.

except we still were interested in him and he was just greedy and wanted more money. Good on CCM not bowing down to his commands! And boo Aloisi!
Not to mention he seems to be a liar...I want to play in Asia- LIE!

I may be a mere Lady, and God knows will be accused of not knowing anything about Football, but John Aloisi did his bit, and he's not the first or last player, as said above me, to do the big change, and not only he, but anyone being offered more money would make the move, sports or other, so why dog the man for that? When he was with us, he showed his respect, why is it when someone leaves us, he's seen as the bad guy? people move on, times change, don't judge people on that, when they did their best whilst on side. Why don't people look at the ones on board who don't pull their weight instead, yet are still on contract? it all boils down to money, and there's only one person to be blamed for the lot and that's the FFA, as they stand Gods, judge and juries of everything. If anything needs to issued it's the sorry excuses for Referees we have, and not people like JA leaving us, Good luck to the guy, any one in his position or other would do the same thing, it's not a matter of dogging The Mariners as most people are saying here. Again, I know I will called a simple woman who just doesn't know anything, but so be it guys!

Sydney unveil new signings

March 03, 2008 SYDNEY FC have unveiled strike pair John Aloisi and Mark Bridge and former Perth Glory skipper Simon Colosimo as their star signings for the 2008-09 A-League season and beyond.

Aloisi, 32, has signed a lucrative two-year deal as the marquee player, and though the figure was not disclosed it is reportedly worth $1.4 million a season, making the Socceroos hero the highest-paid player based in Australia in any of the four football codes.

Bridge, 22, joins from reigning A-League champions Newcastle Jets on a three-year deal, eight days after scoring a stunning match-winner in the 1-0 grand final victory against Aloisi and his former club Central Coast Mariners.

And Colosimo, 29, joined on a two-year deal as Sydney made huge strides in their rebuilding phase with a view towards recapturing the title they won in the A-League's inaugural season in 2005-06.
