ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Hey Wombat, awesome. I've started a thread.

Thinking we start with $20 pledges, and those inclined like you or I can up to fifty if we don't get over the line.

Re the how of it, once we have the pledge amount, I'll organise a drop off locale, and for any out of towners, worse case they can just post it.

Best

. for those like me that jump straight to the CCMFC board ... here is the thread:

The Gutsiest Win

This was a gutsy win; the gutsiest. No team should ever have to celebrate their Championship by fronting up two days later at a soulless stadium in South Korea. But led by captain for the day, birthday boy Daniel McBreen, they rode out the Suwon assault and took the three points.
From the first few seconds when McBreen was cynically scythed down to the last few seconds when he felt the imprint of Suwon studs on his foot McBreen set the tone for bravery and character and sheer determination to win.
In wet slippery conditions Suwon dominated possession and territory in the first half with the besieged Mariners digging deep to hold them at bay. They struggled, often, to get out of their own half but the team work, the desire to help each, the composure of the players meant they occasionally buckled but never broke. The whole team played measured football, the ball on the ground, no panic, calmly picking out team mates and supporting each other. The powerful Anderson and the calm assassin Sainsbury intelligently presented the formidable barrier on which Suwon foundered. A feeble header at the far post and a left foot volley cleanly taken left Mat Ryan largely untroubled.
Constantly playing the team out of trouble with precise passing Ollie Bozanic backed up wonderfully from the Grand Final and the feisty Nick Fitzgerald gave a more than passing imitation of Michael McGlinchey with his confident skills and willingness to beat people. 0-0 at half-time.
Suwon were quickly out of the blocks in the second half but the Mariners restricted them to half chances and shots from distance. Gradually the Mariners were building forward momentum, Rose and Bojic beginning to provide threat going forward. In a classic Mariners’ counter attack Rose was suddenly in acres of space on the left, his cross spilled by the keeper just far enough away from the onrushing McBreen who impolitely rapped the keeper on the knuckles.
McGlinchey came on for the tiring Fitzgerald and immediately had Suwon confused and back-pedalling. Bozanic, surrounded by defenders, somehow had the vision and skill to pick the wee maestro out on the left and he raced through to force the ball past the keeper with ten minutes to go. History was baout to be made!
Sterjovski replaced the hard working Duke, Zwaanswijk came on as Bozanic limped off. Suwon huffed and puffed but at the end it was the Mariners still going forward with that man McBreen firing a shot over the bar from distance.
This was an historic win, the first away in Asia, and sets up next week’s home game against Kashiwa Reysol; it will be another great night at Bluetongue!
Anderson, Sainsbury, Bozanic and Fitzgerald were my best on the night with Ollie getting MoM for that killer pass under pressure.
And thank you Daniel McBreen for not only celebrating your birthday with this win but also celebrating my birthday too!

I didn't see it that way. They squandered 3 good chances in the 1st half, as they squandered 3 OUT OF 4 SECOND HALF PENALTIES against Kashiwa, and a whole raft of cheap turnovers in our back third.
I think we were either lucky or they are corrupt.
Still I'm pumped for next week and just glad to get Suwon behind us. I neither like them nor trust them.

Just noted this on Twitter and went to check :)
ACL tickets selling for $10 now, in case anyone'd missed it - so if you were in doubt, now's the time... School night or not, can't miss at that price. :)

Oh... Red faced me... There's a whole thread on this already ;)

Kashiwa Reysol looked hopeless and were consequently smashed at home 4-0 by Omiya Ardija (currently on a record breaking unbeaten streak).

School night? It's a pupil free day up north. Last day of holidays though.

Heh... The issue stands for that though, still have to get kid up and ready for next day...
However, mine's in private school and for him, school starts again Monday morning.... Working on a babysitter though :D Not missing this one, if we win... AWESOME... If we lose, at least we'll go out in style :)

Hope to see a good turnout from the Coast for this match. The team truly deserves a big crowd and atmosphere.
All the best.

Nebbake you really need to take control here mate.
You need to be able to speak "WOMAN"

Your wife needs to become aware that "Football" isn`t just about kicking a ball.
You are teaching your son some of the most important lessons of his life.
What kind of a father would you be if you didn`t teach your son committment, passion, dedication & respect!

Through football you are doing all of those things.

Tell your son you will take him but he has to realise that he has school in the morning.
Tell him he has to agree to get his things ready before you take him & that he has to get up when called, get himself ready & get to school all without complaint.

If he can work with you & give a little then you can give a little by taking him. Win Win.

Here`s a clip that may be able to help you & your son.....goodluck!

Heh, I appreciate the comment style_cafe, but I think you missed the point... She's not keen on missing the game either, when it comes to football, no amount of speaking "woman" will help me if she's set her heart on going to the game ;)
The little one... Well that's a different story... He'd get off to school OK, but it'd take the rest of the week for him to recover from the lack of sleep, so rather a sitter, if we can get one ;)
On the upside, I'm thinking I'll put the spare ticket out there for someone else to use, if they don't have a spare $10...

On a slightly different note - Kashiwa's arrived - I crossed the street in front of their bus at Terrigal this afternoon... Was trying to work out what the polite approach is in that sort of situation.... But could not have spotted a more appropriate placement of the "Go Mariners" banner than above the Spanish restaurant across from the Crown... In their face! ;)
