ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Saturday night games at Bluetongue are a real PITA to get back to Sydney from if you're taking the train - you either have to leave the game early or hang around Gosford station until after 11pm. It's actually easier to get a train back to Scumland...

As someone suggested earlier you should write to the club so it can be passed on to city rail... BTW anyone seen the new timetable and how it affects the CC trains...

A bit off-topic - but having commuted since 1986 when I could get a train from the City to Gosford that took 63 minutes I will answer.

I haven't seen the latest version. However, it will be worse. During the election campaign they spruiked more express trains from Wyong to the City. This was by redefining the 'City' as Macquarie University.

There is a limit to the number of trains per hour over the harbour bridge. The current timetable is 2 short of the limit. The north-west rail link will get at least 8 spots per hour during peak-hour and the NSW Govt will not look at a second crossing. This means that 6 north-shore trains per hour during peak hour will need to be cut.

The current north shore central coast trains will be rediverted down the main line to to Epping and then across to Chatswood where it will terminate and you will have to join another train.

I wonder what the Friday night policy is going to be. Do they put blockbusters on a Friday night so as to maximise the reach of the colour and excitement to a much wider audience, or do they save those games for Fox who have put much more $$$ into the FFA than SBS has? If that is the case, are the new SBS audience going to be treated to games with 6K crowds and no atmosphere? Hardly good advertising to grow the sport.

I guess I'll find out in another 50 minutes :)
SBS Has bean showing soccer b4 foxtel or any other type of pay tv evan existed

Pardon my possible ignorance, but aside from the YA ringleaders, does anyone discuss getting a group together for away games? ie Organise to go together, split transport (taxis, trains to airports aren't cheap in some parts - went to a cousin's 21st in Brissie the other night and was already bracing for the sting of the GC to Brisbane Airport train trip long beforehand), split accommodation, etc? I'd be massively keen to do at least one non-NSW away match.

Someone mentioned them a couple of pages ago but any of the following Saturday matches could be goers?
  • Rd 2: MHT, Rectangular
  • Rd 7: PER, TBA
  • Rd 10: ADL, Hindmarsh
  • Rd 24: MHT, Rectangular (Sunday match, but early arvo and plenty of flights from Melbourne to Sydney or Newcastle)
  • Rd 26: PER, Perth
  • Rd 27: BRI, Brisbane
Incidentally, spewing that we're at home in Round 1 - while the Bathurst 1000 is on.

does anybody have any info/ideas on possible ccm pre season trial games or any suggestions of games ?

If last year is anything to go by, we'll probably play Sydney and Wanderers behind closed doors and maybe a NSWPL squad or two. Would like to see the Central Coast All-Star vs Mariners again, even if they did get pummelled last year.

Something beaute like a mini tournament day: Mariners, Academy, NYL and a Best XI of the Central Coast leagues. Each team plays 45 minute games in a round robin, best two teams play another 45 minutes at the end of the day.

That should be floor suggestion no.1 at the next forum!

Have a membership drive (2 stalls, BBQ, jumping castle, all that great family stuff) there as well.

Would be a great day out.

A fantastic idea!!
It would be a great way to introduce people to the COE.
Maybe a Mariner`s exhibition Soccer5s game,an over 35`s game,a wheelchair football game etc.
Bring together all the streams that the Mariner`s want to get involved with within the community.

Oh & I love "jumping castles" too!!!!

Membership drives are currently being finalised, almost good to go! Not sure on the finer details yet though.

FYI, Yellow Army are going to organise a bit of a night at Soccer 5's to enjoy a social kick around, BBQ and a few beers/soft drink. Everyone's welcome!
We are looking at a Saturday night in the coming weeks, kicking off around 6ish.
We will update you when we get a date settled.
