ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That's exactly the logic of signing Walmsley.

He was signed because he was CHEAP and we improved once we sacked Moss. The 5.1 flogging against Brisbane raised question marks but most of us were just so happy to see the back of Moss.

He was signed because he was cheap, available, knew the squad at his disposal, but mostly because he was one of the only ones willing to work at the absolute floor of the salary cap, following the $1.5m loss (per season I think?) under Arnold.
Now that we broke even last season, perhaps the club may show a little more flexibility in the salary cap. With rosey gone there's decent $$and a spot freed up, and we could also potentially re register Trent/Bingham as youth players to free up another spot (I could be, and am likely very wrong here but hey).
Also with so many players off contract next season, whoever comes in could well see it as a good chance to mould their own side and press on.

No, I suppose he had nothing to do with it. He was only the youth league coach.
Who do you think spotted the talent in the first place, before they came to the club?
Easy to look good, when you already have talented players at your disposal.
