Brett - so you're not disputing the points I've made, but I'm still wrong in what I'm saying??  And because I don't have the coaches phone number and get all the inside knowledge (wtf??) I know f*ck all about the team??  Mate, I think you might want to take the rose colored glasses off and _step back_ from the whole situation and try and analyse it as neutrally as possible.

My post clearly said you DON'T need any inside knowledge to see that Hutch is a driving force of the team dynamic, on and off the pitch. And he hates the f**king scum, and chose our club over other offers, what more do you want from his attitude? It's piss-poor because he doesn't like your criticism? You don't like my criticism...

And, as I said, I'm not arguing all your points here (doesn't mean I agree with all of them), I'm predominantly arguing with YOUR lack of neutrality. You start your analysis of Hutcho's performance in this very thread with "as for our mate Hutcho". That's not neutral. That's a pre-meditated position.

*gets deep for a second*

To be honest mate, I don't care how you support the team. I've long realised that there's no measurements for how 'passionate' supporters are, and no one way to support the team. For example, I'd bet there's kids up in the nosebleeds that live and breathe this team more than you or I ever will; and Marinermum has been to more games than just about anyone, but I find it harder to picture Eggy living without the CCMFC than her. It means something different to everyone, and everyone supports it in a different way. You get off on being negative and critical - that's totally cool. My crew is more 'balanced' and that works for us.

But I feel sorry for someone like kanewillow in this thread who gets harmed because of the reflection back on the group. Someone who can't produce a song when they cop the obligatory 'give us a song' chant, but won't hesitate to run down to the fence to abuse our club's captain crosses a line for me. That's my opinion. The can of worms I knew this would open was, I guess, to make you think about that. If you disagree and go on as you have, that's cool with me tbh. It doesn't affect my enjoyment at all and I hope there's no hard feelings.

Personally, I dont care if he is a "jumped up tosser" or "life and soul of the team" TBH. I am only remotely interested in what he adds to CCM's ability to get 3 points.

We will be paying customers long after he (and the rest of the players have gone)

Totally agree. To clarify, this is the point I was making. I feel Hutcho's contribution to the team dynamic mentally is an extension of the McKinna vibe on the pitch, and his presence DOES add to our 3-point ability in ways not always as obvious, as, say, Mile's. That's my opinion.

Football is a game of opinions and as long as they are individually expressed (which they are) and not put forward as "truth", thats what a forum is for.

Then what is a balcony for?  :p

Serious is right

Hutch is Shit. I commented on his style of play in the trial agianst NZ at Knox (and was belittled by the biased point of view of people on this forum back then). He slows down the momentum of any attacking movement that seems to have potential. This happens every week. The same was happening with Osman... but at least he's on the bench now.

Its fair to have favourite players in a team... I know I do, but you support the club before anyone else so if you wanna jump on here and rant away about how some of our players are shithouse, feel free I say. It make interesting reading as well. The following players in our squad are shit and have offered very little this season.

Wilko
Hutch
Osman

and I'm sure there are a heap in our NYL team as well

Cheers. To be honest, I regret opening a can of worms of a much bigger scale than how much I care about this. I'd just as soon leave everyone to their own supporting styles and opinions like I'd hope people would respect mine.

And as for anti-negativity police - I would be the anti-christ of that club.

The main instigator for my involvement in this thread was serious calling people out as anti-negativity police on his comments. With all due respect, that's just not the case. I think it's offensive to dismiss people's opinions as some kind of player-loving predisposition when they're views are equally as valid (more valid imo) than the original poster's.

And can I add, if being 'not as bad as Sydney's forum' is our benchmark for quality - god help us all.

Ohhhhh, getting personal, down and dirty.  How delightfully nasty.  I'd say many a thing in response about your attitude towards us since you moved to Sydney, but that would bring me down to your level, and quite frankly, I don't really want to be that person.

And you're going to compare something I did in the V2 Pre-Season cup to something that happened last week, when I was barely a week out of a break up and I'm a bit shy when it comes to public speaking/whatever when there's attention on me??  F*ck, if you're going to rubbish on my 'contribution' to the Bay, at least be fair about it??  You full well know what I've contributed to this Bay over the years, and if I 'cross a line' or some such because of two separate incidents that happened 2 and a half years apart (Wilko was f*cking rubbish that game, not pulling his weight, and fully deserved every word of my spray, so f*ck you if you don't agree), then whatever, I guess we're never going to see eye to eye over this.

I've been as neutral as I can be about this whole Wilko and Hutch situation.  I like Wilko, he's a nice guy, I've met him a few times over the years, he's affable, always available for a chat, blah blah blah.  To preface Perm's smartarse remark of "I'd like to see you introduce yourself to Hutch" - mate, happened a long time ago.  Personally to me, he seems up himself off the field.  That's just what I feel about his attitude, m'kay??

_But_ the last I knew, they both get paid by the Central Coast Mariners to do a job - and if I'm not mistaken, some of the money to pay him comes from our memberships and tickets.  So if they're performing shithouse at their jobs, which I believe Hutch has consistently since about the middle of V3, and Wilko since his knee injury (with a few exceptions), are we not entitled to sit down and go "you know what, here's a performance review", negative, positive, neutral or not??

Say you worked at a large accounting firm, and for a couple of weeks in a row, you lost a big account every week, and didn't improve in your ability to keep accounts week after week, and you kept losing them (a metaphor for say, I dunno, limiting our attacking play/conceding goals we really shouldn't be), wouldn't you expect to be hauled infront of your boss/shareholders/whoever and be made accountable??  I know I would.

Oh, and care to explain to me your little quip that your opinions are more valid than mine??  I know it was a little off handed remark, but a bit rich considering the pious nature of your post, wouldn't you say??

P.S.  No hard feelings at all, we both support the same team.  We just go about it in a different way.

It is interesting that when you talk to supporters at other clubs they mostly believe that Wilko and Hutch are having excellent seasons. I guess they can be truly objective on this matter and have no personal bias.

Here is just one case as an example (look at honourable mentions at bottom):

I would think Mile would get more than an honorable mention

Merely commenting on their current position on the table GP. Don't actually watch the NYL games but the results speak volumes.

The way some people react to criticism of some players is astounding... It's not like anyone is critising your son or another family member FFS.
