ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Singo to help get Beckham to Bluetongue

Are we after him for the ACL period at all? Would it be allowed on a "guest" contract?
One would think this would be the best period to have him with massive opportunities in Asia.

I'd rather hear that all players' and staff super and taxes were up to date, we have an ongoing stream of working capital and *then* hear that we're looking to splurge.

Doesn't sound like an either/or choice... sounds like there are people willing to pump money in to bring Beckham/ADP to the coast, or nothing...??

Agree with above completely.

Lets move on from almost insolvent and re sign some major players who are coming off contract instead of offering a 50% wage reduction

Trolling for headlines is only amusing once

Seems crazy, but personally I like this kind of crazy, and I applaud the pluck and initiative. It would cost big time, but the promotional and sponsorship opportunities it could bring would be massive also. I'm sure the costs would be majorly offset and that decisions like this would not be being made lightly and only if viable.

As to Beck's in Oz being all over... All he said was, "we'll see". For mine I hope after what happened to the England bid the idea of taking oil money makes him retch.

Disruption... it's true. But I'm sure gaining a world class player would be considerably less disruption than losing your key striker or DM. I think the Mariners team would enjoy the extra support and bigger crowds ADP, Beck's or certainly both would help bring. But more importantly I think we actually have the kind of dressing room, captain and coach that could handle something like this with a minimum fuss and quite successfully I think.

They are a great team. Beck's and ADP are consummate pros and both good guys. Don't see why it couldn't work. Except that it seems like total insanity to me to believe that it could actually happen. But here's to total insanity I say.

Side note: Imagine what this would do to the doco sales?? Hope the Mariners have profit share. And I bet the director must have splinters in his knees from praying that Beckham comes off.

im sorry but becks is an overpaid has been, whos main 'game' now
is what other cosmetic product can he put his name to,
and even though singo is footing a majority of the bill, it does not fit with the clubs trajectory
nor will it ever.

if ever we should splash on a star, make it Messi or RvP, Ozil. . . . sneijder is up for contract
heskey ADP, and especially ONO have been great for the season where the a league grew up,
Beckham is a backward step

Ah but then it's not about getting a quality marquee, and it never was. CCM have never wanted one and don't need one for results. This is purely about PR - what it can do for the club and the coast. The football side of things is taking care of itself and even though Beckham may not be the player you want he also is unlikely to hurt results either.
