Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I dont think that a roof will help your situation until you get some organisation sorted.

Why are you referring to the Marinator's as 'you' and 'your' Jimmy, sounds like you are excluding yourself from the group.

A fresh start in a new bay will provide the opportunity to polish up the organisation of the bay which will not happen remaining in Bay 16.

You can be used in a general direction.
I havnt been in bay 16 for the Asia games. And from what I've seen from where I've been instead was quite poor. To put it nicely.
Not excluding myself. Yet.

So why wait? Rather than say "not excluding myself, yet" and say we look poor, why not pull your finger out and have a go at making it better, oh awesome one?

I had my finger pulled put for a long time there if you didn't notice. I'm just seeing if anyone else would "pull their finger out". It hasn't happened yet. But here's a simple and very achievable idea for someone to run along with. Make a big M with the flags and/or ribbons that I brought and left at the game for the use of bay 16 at the next ACL game. Might be worth a shot.
Don't have a go at me for criticising the bay. I'm one of the only people that have had an idea and actually made it come to fruition. Unlike most of the other whinging saps on here.

Jimmy you did a great job last season but why take the attuitude of i've done my bit now im going to just f**k off and watch the Bay "FAIL" as you put it at the last ACL game.

I just don't get how it helps the cause.

The Bay needs constant improvement no one can just come up with a new thing to do for a game and stick with it cos in 2 games time that is going to be old. The more ppl that throw things into the direction of improving the bay the better.

I know what your saying melsy but you missed my point. It's great for everyone to have ideas. But it's making those ideas happen on game day that's not particulary working at the moment. However. I will say kudos on the anthem. It sounded good where I was I look forward to singing it with you in round 9 down in sydney.

That is not my intention, lets not forget its hard to get tones thru via rhe forum  let alone whn im usimg my damn phone. I'm just sittin back for 3 games admiring the Asian brand of football and getting a different view of the bay at the same time. As I reffered to before I will be away til round nine of the a-league anyways.
The following I am saying not because I left. But it's something the bay needs, someone needs to man the drum. The chants the other night were to fast and burned out really quick. I'm not the first person to think or say this so don't shoot me for that.
For some reason it just seem that I'm the only one not allowed to give my opinion of the bay.

well, in a way you are not without being open to some sort of scrutiny and this is the good reason why brett never comments on the performance of the bay since leaving the club captain position

Fair call Mick but I'm only commenting on the last 2 games.
I can say honestly say that the bay was shit during a few games when I was club captain.
Why people are so sensitive about it?

I've also been listening in on randoms comments on various things/songs that happen in the bay.

I heard both praise and criticism for the flare, more praise might I add.

I heard a few guys talking about going and joining Bay 16, they were pretty close to it, but then the next thing we knew we we're down 2-0 and they decided not to.
I know we've tried it in the past with bays 15 and 17, but maybe we could do a recruitment drive at the beginning of the next game to try and get those marginal people into the bay and get it going again. I'm not sure if it's feasible or not, still something else to look at.

And I also a lot of people can understand almost of the lyrics to chants, but fall down in some areas. Maybe if we ironed out these errors gently we could really get the anthem going.

We're easily ten times louder at both Sydney and QLD away..... pretty sure the roof helps quite a bit - it's simple physics.

TBF :)
We were 10x louder whilst the flare was going imagine a flare with a roof ohhhh aahhhhhhh

Tbf... again

Interesting point Eggy.

We are louder and better when we stop trying to be nice and family friendly and actually behave like supporters.

Active support goes against everything the FFA and their "matchday experience" wankfest wants.

I am not trying to promote anti social behaviour but we need to get less "compliant"

If we sit opposite suporters bay and use flares and swear our heads off, eg antisocial behaviour, we will be kicked out of the ground.

The novelty factor of a flare would wear off IMO.

The booming of drums under the roof adds a hell of a lot to atmosphere in the bay and through the whole stadium.

I am very pro this move and think we should give it a test run at the next home game. Which could be a big one

Clarification. Absolutely NOT endorsing Flares, abusive/racist chanting etc.

What I think is that we need to try to recreate the atmosphere that we generate away when we are at BT.

Lets get under a farkin roof and take it from there

Agreed. Roof + drums+ easy access to beers = more atmosphere
