ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I remember back in V3 when I used to scream chants as loud as I could in the middle of Bay 16 and still not hear myself.

Is strange when you think back 2 years in a 5 year old league and think "the good old days".

I miss V1 the most.  Sunday nights in the pouring rain against Perth.....  *sigh*

the standard of mariners football has been amazing this year but the fact is we are in the exact same place we were this time last season, we scored 5 against Fury and then the wheels fell off. i think its going to be about 93 minutes into the winning grand final for the absolute death of the Arnold out movement...

Arnold is to Australian Football what Ian Dowie is to England - a proven disaster. Hope the useless twat loses every (yes, EVERY) game in charge of CCM so he's turfed out by Round 8 or so and we can concentrate on not wasting another season going nowhere fast.

Teee heeee heeee - *snicker - snicker*

Sorry Serious, couldn't resist :D

Remember when he was "super awesome omg amazing" in qualifying for various tournaments and when it actually mattered, he was a miserable failure??

For qualifying - read first half of this season.
For when it matters - read second half of this season.

You'll see.

;)

Luckily a lot of people see the 27 round qualifiers as more important than the finals series then ;)

Way to death ride the team serious.

For mine I'm glad to say I got it wrong. He has been awesome and I can't see it changing very quickly. Massive difference between a job in one town for 3 years and a job where you are out of town 260 days a year. I think the next few months will spell out how good Arnold will or wont be.

Great time to be a Mariners fan.

Finals?? Who cares about those??

I'm talking about the _season_ - not the made for TV post-season Cup.

Nah, just Arnold. I've been burnt by him too many times before (Asian Cup '07, Olympics '08, Socceroos in Canberra) to give him another go. Completely over his always-failing-to-live-up-to-his-promise schtick. He copes a free ride from Fox as well 'cause of his buddies (namely Slater) there - sickening.

But no longer an angry 'young' man!

I too am reserving my judgement, as I said I would, until the end of the season.

You make me chuckle Serious but why I don't fear some dreadful collapse is that you can clearly see the organisation in how they play and have been able to since the trial games. We might have flat games of suffer form injuries. But we clearly have a style of play which is well structured, the players understand and works. Thats what keeps teams on track. And why for example Perth who looked like a very good team on paper are so clearly struggling.

Serious you are an angry man

You sound shocked?? :p

But no longer an angry 'young' man!

Heh, I was young once - all this football related travel and the crushing experiences contained within has made me old and bitter. ;)

But we clearly have a style of play which is well structured, the players understand and works. Thats what keeps teams on track..

And this is exactly why I fear the inevitable collapse - I've seen it all before with him (Arnold). If you had shown someone the Olyroos qualifier from Gosford and then the game against the Ivory Coast from Tianjin (Cornthwaite off the bench as a lone striker with ten minutes to go when you're 1-0 down, BRILLIANT) immediately after.... they'd think you mad if you said it was the same team.

Same goes for the ProperRoos qualifier against Bahrain in Sydney, and then the Oman or Iraq games from Bangkok.

Mmmm... there's just so many more variables with international squads though compared to club sides - and people can learn form errors also - such as the Cornthwaite idea. But even then tall and good in the air you could see his rationale. But when it failed he just looked very stupid.

All the players he brought in have worked. All contribute to us playing a particular way. Our movement is far better than the last couple of years and we're now a genuinely attractive side to watch. He's bringing through youth and they're performing admirably.

The one thing we're missing is goals (last weekend notwithstanding).

As the first year of a three year stint that's a bloody good start, and infinitely preferable to losing the first 8 and having to look for another coach.
