ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sack Arnold!!!!!

I cant fault him so far. He has brought a whole new philosophy and direction to the the team. The players seem sharper, the structure is better and he is creating competition in the team - Hutch, Porter and Kwas sitting on the sidelines - Amini given a chance.

What I am interested to see is who he retains or signs at the end of the season. There is a bit of dead wood in the team as far as I am concerned and the sooner those players are moved on the better. Having said that I hope we retain the services of McGlinchey and sign Amini to a longer contract!!

Looking into the future I would love to have another crack at the ACL and actually put some effort into making a go of it. The one time we played in the ACL was an utter embarrassment.

So much so that he did it again in Canberra against Kuwait.

BECAUSE IT WORKED SO WELL THE FIRST TIME.

There's no doubt Arnold has done a great job with the Mariners so far.

Fair enough you have your doubts based on past experience, but may I suggest you be mindful that your negativity doesn't start saying more about you than it says about Arnold.

All the players he brought in have worked. All contribute to us playing a particular way. Our movement is far better than the last couple of years and we're now a genuinely attractive side to watch. He's bringing through youth and they're performing admirably.

The one thing we're missing is goals (last weekend notwithstanding).

How many recent signings are genuinely Arnolds? How many are Lawrie's in his final hours, or as part of his new role?

Not having a shot here, just curious.

I'm sure there are many cases where managers have reaped the rewards of a previous coaches canny signings.

Taking nothing away from Arnold here, as I agree that he has them working as a great unit, both in commitment, style, and tactically, and his substitutions have seemed appropriate and timely.

Well obviously McBreen was Lawrie's mid way through last season and Amini came around that time too. Pretty sure Perez, Rose, Bozanic and Zwaanswijk are all GA's. Not sure about Griffiths, Arnold said in the press conference that 'the club has made a really great purchase in him' so not sure if he is being humble or it was genuinely others who were behind the signing. Not sure about Van Stratten, I would suspect GA again.

Bozanic has to be Lawrie's as he tried to bring him back every year afetr he went to the UK. It wouldn't surprise me if Arnie was consulted over some of the Lawrie signings as the famous 'Arnold Out' banner first made an appearance a year before he came to us.

Serious, I will always respect your opinion along with everyone else's on the forum, but you're hatred of GA is almost pathological. Forget Arnie in charge of NT's, that is a very different animal. He's hardly put a foot wrong. Third spot, games in hand, long run of home games coming up, all is good and we're only going to get better, we're far from the finished article yet.

I belive we've never had a better team or style of Football. Won't be too long before you'll have to admit defeat on this one and if you do, it'll be a good thing because it'll mean we're going to give it a real shake this season, which I think we will.

Nope it was GA who brought Bozanic back.

bozanic was in negotiation and verbally agreed long before it was announced and before arnie

I work with his mum Mick. She said it was definately Arnie that got him back here?

Not that it matters much as long as he is here..

Well that's interesting as I wrote on his wikepedia page that he signed with the mariners a good three months before he was actually announced. It was taken down a couple of days later.

My 'Deep Throat' source matches Mick's version. But Ted is right - as long as he's here!
