An angry van Egmond said he was "happy" to let Hearfield go in the end because "we have a no dickhead policy at the club"

If they had of stuck to their policy they wouldn`t have lost so much money on the Culina`s....lol

Don't mind the look of that at all but maybe this would be my side

Ryan
Pedj. Wilko. Duchy. Rose
Wee Mac. Griff. McDonald
Bozanic
Simon. Bernie

I think he'll stick with a similar line up depending on injuries, his post match interview suggested to me he's willing to give the team some time to gel and if you keep making panic decisions to change line ups it doesn't help.

McBreen trained a lot of pre-season at number 10 (whether that was due to Musti's injury don't know), just behind the front 2, GA may be tempted to throw in some muscle against Newcastle away?

I guess Bernie could get a start, young, fearless and pacey could be a great break away option.

Either way, providing the 11 players who are picked if they play well and put in 100% I can't complain.

I agree. Everyone seemed flat against GC, so it needs to be a whole lift of the team rather than individuals.

I really like TSD or Wombats lineups.
But I don't see GA changing our shape yet.
Really just hope the team doesn't continue to make a case for it and gets brave.

Van Schip made some good comments about fear this week after hearts performance.

We looked flat, but I felt it was more specifically that we seemed to lack the confidence to take players on and play forward consistently. Hough as EVERYONE has noted, our movement was also ver poor. For two games running. Confidence and fire required.

Is Wilko confirmed as back?

exactly, it would be madness to change this early in the season, but we did look good with 3 strikers at the end of the game so if we go a goal down again i would love to see the above team for the last 30, we looked like we would have got the extra goal last week if we had 5 more mins!

side note, when wilko does return do you think porter has done enough at CB to reclaim his RB spot from bojic? he does currently have the only goal assist for the season! ;)

No.

Pedj had a Barry Crocker last week but he will improve. He is never bad twice in a row.

Pedj is not a very technical player but he is a real goer. Great engine, can tackle, never dominated, can cross and believe it or not can score a goal as well.

I believe we are at our best when he plays and he gives our side a decent balance.

Porter has done quite well but always makes me nervous when he plays in the backs and the assist was just a reasonable ball that Dutchy did very well with.

IMHO Bojic is a much better RB than Brad.

Agree with Wombat.

CB I'd laugh about your insider knowledge sources if it wasn't quite so disappointing.

And again agree TSD re 3 strikers.
WIth full backs bombing on and Dutchy getting forward, we can be dangerous and play crowd pleasing football.
Otherwise, our midfield really has to really buzz to keep connected with our forwards whilst being under the pressure that teams know to apply to us.

Have enjoyed GA"s comments on training this week. Says everything that you want to hear.

Not interested in seeing hearfield start - not yet at least. Quality midfield, and I don't feel the same way towards pellegrino as most. I think TED had it spot on.

Really I just want us move better, show greater adventure and fireup. No need to change it up yet. Couple more chances to gel first for mine. Except to give Bernie a start :D

Last time I went to the derby up there, we had a great time chanting "Enjoy your wooden spoon" at the scummers as they walked out after we knocked them over.
Going up again this weekend, hope the result is the same. Hope the result at the end of the season is the same as well!

I must disagree wholeheartedly to some of those things.

Pedj cant shoot. He hits about 1 in 100 on target, and his crossing is not a whole lot better.

He gets up and down the wings fine, but does not add much to an attack except to draw a defender.

Porters crossing was not good last year, if he has brought it back to what it used to be, he is much more dangerous down the wing, even if you give up a little defensively.

That said I have been pretty happy with porters defence the last 2 games, so he has likely improved a fair bit there since last year.

That also said, with the way weemac played last time out, id be happy to see porter given a go at RM to put some pressure on weemac.

With grif, and when we had jedi, i think we can afford to have attacking wingbacks.

That is my 2c

Can anyone tell me if the Jets still have the "centerlink squadron tickets" avaliable for newcastle fans ( I think they were like $10) last season?
