Mmmmm. Too harsh many on here I think.
Passion clearly increases the pain factor I suspect.

Flat. Not Horrendous by any means... just a flat day where we couldn't quite gel in attack

. it is frustrating nonetheless

. i also agree about porter ... usually when he backs himself it is the wrong time and then he goes back into his shell for awhile. one time last night he got to the edge of the 18 yard box (just outside) and i actually wanted him to shoot but instead he tried to cross to the strikers who were only a couple of yards in front of him and heavily marked. but i think he is defending better ... just don't know if that is strictly a good thing

It must be asked, why change the team and start Crowell ?, Travis is far more attacking minded, in form and has a better understanding with wee-mac.  Why didn't we have a go at Perth ?, especially at home, bring in the shrinks to sort the lads heads out and maybe LM while at it. Oh and the ground, what's doing ! Glad we gave the pitch a rest to recover....what a joke.

I think Travis has a knock?

The pitch cant be blamed for our woeful performance because Perth were able to play on it and should have beaten us (by a few).

We lost that in midfield. Our 1st touch was terrible and so was our passing.

Oh and two great saves by danny. But boy he still has that habit of running out of his area to get involved with things that should not bother him(sterjovski incedent)that will be noted by the socceroo panel. Is he still to much of a risk?

The Mariners are like that guy who cleans up at other people's places and is the life of the party, but when he's at home he just wants to lay around and watch TV all the time.

Haven't seen a Mariners win since Boxing Day last year, and won't be at the next two games. F**king work. I suppose its' better than the ACL where not only could they not score points but defend the other team from scoring them.

Perhaps we should move all remaining home games to Canberra???

I agree that we were a bit flat. Why I don't know why. As for Porter - I thought he did well. If you look at Perth over the last few weeks their joy came down their left flank. I thought he did well to keep them reasonably quiet down that side.

The connection between midfield and the forwards just wasn't there. That to some extent may have been caused by Todd and Coyne.

I actually thought that Nik was the best of the three strikers and that Matty should have put his header away at the end.

it was flat, but i never expected us to roll perth, they were in some form,
not much more to say except when travis came on the magic flowed with weemac, and was
a relief, it was just even 10 too late. Methinks LM was seeing if he could get the same with out the main troupe, it didnt quite work, crowell is a bit too negative minded, id like to have seen huke out there, ill also be happy with the point, even though we had a few near chances to steal the 3

find it intriging, that Fsports says they held us to a draw,
when i saw it as perth having us by the balls for most part

Just like the Adelaide game in Canberra, flat and boring.

IMO Lawrie's biggest mistake was subin' Mrdja. He clearly should have brought Kwassie off instead.

Danny awesome as usual.

Pissed off most of the game seeing Travis on the bench. If he had a knock then why play him at all.

Oh and the Mariners board you now have a lot of work to do to gain back the support of the loyal members after seeing the shambles that is called a pitch. It would be nice if you actually communicated to the members on this issue.

I was sat in front of Lyall last night and the shit that was being said about Kwasnik from the fans funny. "f**king Useless", "Why is he Back", "Get him off." It was funny to turn around and see his facial expressions. Kwas terrible last night and made Mrdja look a lot better than he was.

Boogs and Danny MOM for me

Was it nerves in front of the home crowd??  Or just that usual "we never _really_ perform at home unless it's a random thumping of someone or a semi final against Newcastle"??

And the pitch sounds worse than ever.  Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaantastic.

Not a good performance and in hindsight very dumb playing with 3 defensive minded middies.

Danny 8.  MOM
Porter 6.  Relatively poor and like Heff nearly cost us a goal by leaving his player unmarked.
Boogs 7.  Not Bad.
Wilko 7.  Not Bad.
Heff 6.  Poor game. Tried hard but his lack of technical quality was glaring last night.
Hutch. 6. Average.
Crowell 6.  Average.
WeeMac 6.5.  Best of a bad bunch.
Bojic.  6.  Disappointing to say the least.
Mrdja 6.  Off the pace.
Kwas 6.5.  Couple of decent passes but ineffective and should have been subbed earlier.

Subs:  Travis 7.5.  This bloke MUST start.  We were a much better side when he came on and WeeMac sparks up when he's there as he actually has someone to work with who moves off the ball.
Simon 7.  This bloke MUST also start.
Elrich 7.  Starting to look the goods and it was a good little cameo....i think he will force his way into the starting 11 very soon.
Each sub was better than the player he replaced.

In summary the defence was a bit shaky and the full backs were generally poor.
Midfield lacked quality in passing and movement.
Attack was toothless.
Lawrie should have made a least one change at half time.
Perth looked more organised than us and their back four more composed however apart from Pelligrino we had slightly more grunt.

On the positives we scrabbled well, fought hard and have great depth on the bench.

Please LM don't start that midfield combo again it was a dismal failure and Simon has to start next week maybe with Elrich alongside him.

Danny 8.  MOM easily
Porter 6.  Too deep and is simply lost at RB. Rather see Sherlock get a run TBH.
Boogs 7.  OK.
Wilko 7.  OK.
Heff -11.  Poor game. Worst game since he came back from his injury. Mind on next season already?
Hutch. 6. Average.
Crowell 6.  Average.
WeeMac 7.  Goes missing a lot doesnt he?.
Bojic.  0.  Cant pass the football. RB or nothing
Mrdja 1.  Shirt was on the right way around. About it really
Kwas 6.  Looked to be struggling for fitness.

Subs:  Travis 8.  Best midfielder by far
Simon 7.  Not fit is he?
Elrich 5.  Could he appear to care any less?

Have noticed this in a couple of recent games.

Hopefully it's just a bad patch he's going through although he does appear to go missing if the opposition rough him up a bit.

Maybe the reason he didn't make it in Scotland ?

Would make sense with the physical nature of the game over there.
