It's a pretty boring match so far.
I think the Mariners should become more offensive to create goal scoring chances and set Perth's defence and their goal keeper under pressure

0:0 full time.

Very dissapointing game. Mariners looked well below the performances from the last two rounds. Poor passing, and we looked like we were scared to attack. Negative, defensive, and pretty much ineffective football. Nik tried, Kwas was hardly seen. Should have started with Travis and Simon. I actually liked the look of Elrich when he came on. Had a nice shot at the death.

Sigh. Second spot would have been nice!!

Dreadful performance all round (except you Danny)

Pitch was as bad as it has been (thanks for the lies about Canberra CCM)

Cant even bring myself to comment on our epic shitness TBH

I suppose this one was on the cards.

So how many away from home next week ?

3 or 4 ?

Then back home for a scrappy 0-0 or 1-0 defeat.

No wonder the A-league is struggling for crowds......the home teams never win....or so it seems  ???

My summary

Danny once agian great job..

Backs played well.

Mids played OK ... weeMac especially in the first half pure gold ... without both Travis and weeMac on the park at the same time the term does not flow the same ... when Travis came on both he and weeMac opened up space for others... Mainermick I think it was back somewhere said Travis was carring an injury ... I hope he gets over it soon...

Strikers ... words fail me .... the missed runs the poor timing ... I hope Matty recovers soon...

Ref ... tho he had a shocker ... and if Nil had gone down after he chipped the goal keeper it would have been a red card send off... How that was not a penatly I don't know.

Ass Ref's Bloke first ... he missed a couple of clear offsides when Perth went down their right hand side in the first half....

Ass Ref's Lady ... she appears not to want to make a call ... but she is getting better...

Crowd way down 8K, great night, 4 V 5, much tho needs to work out why crowd numbers are falling...

Mmmmm. Too harsh many on here I think.
Passion clearly increases the pain factor I suspect.

Flat. Not Horrendous by any means... just a flat day where we couldn't quite gel in attack - BUT defence was still wonderfully miserly.

Porter I felt played quite well over all tonight, but ultimately was too negative and not as attack minded with his distribution as he could have been. Nor does he balance Heff's forays into attack, which I would think he can if he backs himself more.

For mine, really the major area of concern was our decision making and passing accuracy tonight which made both the forwards job much harder than it might have been - though the three strikers also struggled in this regard to varying degrees.
Matty should definitely have nicked it for us.

But Perth are a tough physical side. Coming into some form. Was bound to be a tough game. And a point I'll take.

Personally I think we flourished with the width Lewis gave us, or otherwise when narrower, as MF just said, we require both Travis and Weemac on the park at the same time or we risk like tonight becoming too pedestrian going forward.

All in all we do need to return to winning ways at GC with clinical finishing or it will be a very frustrating season in terms of what we clearly could have been...

But still not like its 9-1 and I'm waiting for my refund  ;)
