:piralaugh:

To be fair, and so I don't face my usual accusations of "I hate Hutch", I'll run through the entire team.  :p

Danny - hmmmmmm.......

Porter - needs to be straight swapped with Osman.   Surely Lawrie can see this??

Boogs - stupid stupid STUPID f*cking tackle late in the game.  QLD must be licking their lips at the defence they will get to run at next week

Wilko - okay, look, I'll be fair....... he was shit.  Utter, utter shit.  Slightly better than in previous weeks, but at the moment, that's not a hard thing to do.  Too slow, out of position, blah blah blah.  It's all been said before.

Tadrosse - yeah, um, no.

Osman - solid where he was, but is needed more at RB than RM right now.

Jedinak - asidde from the free kick (;D), an unusually off game for him.  Pushed passes that he probably shouldn't have tried to, and let the defence run at him all night.  Strange.

Hutcho - *shakes head and walks away*

Mac Attack - miskick of the season??   He's got a Tommy P first touch going on though with his feet (i.e.  that of an elephant) which I hope he can bring under control, because his chest and head control is exceptional

Simon - does this guy ever stop running??  Love it!!!

Caceres - deployed into the wrong position in a mindboggingly wtf formation.  Needed to be dropped in behind (centrally, more or less) the two strikers, and given his typical roaming role.

Sasho - that's why we pay him.  Another 6 yard special.  ;D

Mrdja - getting better, looks hungry.

Gumps - start him ahead of Hutch.  Now.

Btw, can we steal sign Nikita in the off season??   What a gun, he seems wasted over there.  Imagine what he could do with actual service??

Is that it? pg rated at best Serious, surely you can do better than that. I was expecting some major Lawrie bashing for our style of play last night?

How long is Lawrie persisting with Porter at RB and Ossie at RM switch them?

Gumps for Hutch

Taking Adrian out of the game / subbing him after 72 minutes/ playing as a left striker/

Selection of Tadrosse over Dapuzzo

Continual use of the long ball tactic

Having two strikers on the bench

Hopefully this provides some amunition for you... NOW GO NUTS

For whoever said "who would ever agree with a man in yellow getting sent off"

I would - Danny Vukovic hit a referee, how could one not agree with that. I'm a massive Mariners fan (I was since the bid process) but I'm not going to deny fact just because it's against a yellow player (after watching a replay).

I think Cockerill got it right in the post match, it was a bad challenge but could have been a yellow, Boogs was being niggly before and that would have played on the referee's mind.

All in all not the best performance - I agree about the formation, seemed he was using it to give Petrovski a boot up the bum, but why do it like that when he could have just played he's favoured 442? I agree with Lawrie, some poor decisions were made by all concerned.

I thought he was sent off for telling the ref to f**k off....am I the only one to have spotted this??

glad to see that people know me.

anyway.

A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any
of the following seven offences:
serious foul play

And my argument is that in any other game its given as a yellow - you penguins are all the same - inconsistent...

is your opinion exactly the same on every single thing that you see every day to everyone else?
so why is a referee different?

higdawg

In case you hadn't noticed, this is a forum of people who THINK they know the LOTG and that does not appreciate the law's subtlety. Nor does it give a shit for how difficult it is to be a referee!  Just ask Capt Gus!!  He tried but had to flee south of the border....

Well a definite get out of jail, in the second half the Mariners never looked like troubling the scorers but thankfully Sash was in the right place at the right time to get the assist from Macca ;)
First half was scrappy and the pressure from the Glory was stopping Central Coast getting into the usual rythmn of building up attacks, Danny was looking strong in goal handling the incoming corners easily and despite the scrappy play managed to go 1-0 up thanks to a Jedi special from a dead ball.
Second half, not sure if it was a case of thinking they just had to go through the motions but Perth deservedly took the lead and looked more like they wanted the game.
Danny one very good save on the line, the goals he conceeded I would doubt any keeper currently in the A-League would have stopped the first, the second poor defending not to shut down the attack earlier, Danny gets a hand to it but can't keep it out of the net.
As for the Red on Boogs, not much option there for the Ref (Boogs couldn't be subbed with his injury, so prehaps maybe better he did get red carded).
Not sure if Matty Simon picked up a knock but watching the game live, seemed to be struggling for pace and not chasing hard in defence.
On the plus side at least a point from the game and the scum now outright last :)

Get real-another bootcleaner with 3 posts - suppose he's your mate?

The fact we are arguing over the fact it should or shouldn't be a RED shows that its in the eye of the referee. What one ref thinks is Serious Foul play is deemed less so by another hence the inconsistent issues that we as players and supporters face.

Fact is you don't jump on a Forum of another fans site and say what he said first post. nothing but a TROLL

Sash must have done something naughty to be dropped to the bench and to be behind Nick.
A shame about Boogs (red, no question). If he were available we may have been able to move Porter up the park in Hutchi's spot.
Caceras should be AM no matter if we play 2 or 3 up front.

How about:
                              Danny
Osman            Clarke                Wilko
                                                            Pedj
                              Jedi

Porter                              Caceras

      Matty                                          Sash
                            Macca

We will miss the odd nice through ball from hutch but he is just taking too long on the ball at the moment and seems unable to make quick decisions.

Not too worried perth played well and we do not do well on long trips.  Forget it say thanks for the point and move on.

I'm not too sure about the 433 formation. Not much play out of the midfield and I think Jedi is battling in this formation. I would bring heff in as well at LB and Bojic to CB for the next game. Except for a few comebacks for draws and a win against a lathargic Adelaide this formation hasn't really done much except bring the long ball more into play. I think we need to go
4-1-2-1-2 and work out which striker should miss out.

                Danny
Clark        Pedj      Wilko      Heff
                  Jedi
Porter                        Gumps
                  Caceras
        Simon          Macca

Bench: hutch/Ossie, Sasho, Dapuzzo, Reders

I think this is more balanced formation and we still have the strike power up front.

In regard to Boogs challenge it was definitely a red but also potentially match saving. Considering the injury he had Nigel could not allow the player to turn. If he did not stop him straight away he would have been through on goal. At this stage Boogs was only filling space on the field anyway and his tackle, although cynical, kept us in the game.

Team >>>>>>>> Rules of the game everytime (I used to be defender)

A point for us in Perth is ok, we traditionally play shit over there for some reason

Vukovic needs to relearn to tie his shoes or at least give redders a start, to snap him out of complacency. VUKO'S, LEARN TO DIVE!!!!, jedi nor matty matty didnt fire, and therefore dmacs impact was severely reduced, his rebound goal, would have been goal of the A-league:D

something needs to be done with porter and the back four in general, absolutely no talk especially during Glorys 2nd, (the old perth glory are getting to where they used to be).
rukavytsya did what he does best, quality finishes. i fear the worst against roar!!!
alas we seem to be heading the way of FC. . . . . South
COME ON YOU YELLOW!!!!!

I had a go at Danny a couple of weeks ago. His footwork and positioning was shot - probably because of such a stange build up to the season for him. No complaints today though. There is no way you can blame him for either goal and he made some important saves.

i just get frustrated, it seems to me he's on the verge of being a massively awesome keeper, but just not quite there yet. . . agreed, not the best way to enter a new season.
love watching gumps run the defenders, porter is decidedly more dangerous, given the opportunity to run the middle and forward third, lets not forget Dappuzo is on the bench as well as Osman, am yet to see osman play that pos, so no comment, but of what ive seen of D'appuzo, its promising
