Rd 4 Sydney vs Mariners

Sorry Yellowcake, but I think Jaza thinks they deserved to win and that Sydney were robbed of 2 points because of a dive. Somehow 2 deflected pot shots from outside the box that hit the outside of the post and a gifted goal from not the greatest of crosses is deserving of a win.

He should be happy that an incompetent assistant robbed US of the 2 points rather than complain about a dive.

Hopefully the coast gets fired up and gets behind the team and not give up on A-League, because it is the club that suffers.

Lets move forward to better things!

Did anyone see the big smile Perez has on his face when his goal was called offside, he knew he wasnt offside but he has a good sporting smile on his face and shrugged it off, I think we can all admire this and aspire to it, lets shrug it off and beat Sydney again, next time, we are good enough, f**k the FFA, we are gonna get a home grand final this year and stick it to them!

Better than that, was his celebration. He ran straight to the fans.

Jaza.... I'm totally against "simulation" so to speak, but how can they undeniably confirm he WASN'T clipped by Reddy?? Albeit only just,

That still wouldn't excuse it. If this contact even exists, it's so small that just about no one is willing to 100% confirm it happened. So even if it did, it was f**k all. He had his feet halfway in the air by the point Reddy supposedly clips him - he's milking it. Turning a 50/50 foul in to a 100% foul is also cheating.

The only bad thing about this is if they don't keep enforcing it. If 5 or 6 teams lose star players at various points for a season or two before it settles in - so be it. It's for the good of the game long term. If one of my players goes down and gets suspended then suck it up and don't f**king do it again. No time for that shit.

Jaza, if you want to quote something... quote the whole sentence... not just part there of!!! Alot can be misconstrued with other info not there

It has no relevance if he was clipped with his feet on the ground or in the air(as I said "albeit only just")... a foul is a foul & IF he was fouled then the penalty stands!! I'm in no way denying he milked it.... certainly did in my books.... and definitely not the way I like the game to be played!! You're also saying a 50/50 foul in general play and milking a free kick is "100% cheating" then?? this happens how many times per game?? And some of these can be game changing desicions also.... where are they going to draw the line in the sand?? Should the match review panel scrutinize each and every one of these to stamp out "cheating" as you call it... I think highly unlikely. ;)

With respect to the bigger picture, the precedence has been made & I hope FFA stand by this rule and come down hard on ALL other players & clubs alike!!

Well jaza, look at the goal that was disallowed as offside. Sort of evens out doest it.

Try and say a point stolen, does not cover the fact that the goal you scored was only from a keeper stuff up.

Sydney looked like they were trying to hit the goal on the tv screen. Wooden spoon for your boys this year

You don't know what would have happened if Reddy hadn't been sent off.

Once a player is wrongly sent off that logic goes out the window. For all you know sydney might have won 6-0 or you might have won 6-1.

As for the people in here claiming 'how can u ban him if there was inconclusive evidence waaa'. Well, i think to the neutral, its 100% clear hes simulated. He goes down before there is even an opportunity for contact, and then it never comes.

How do you expect them to set it on fire?
Very negative tactic for Lavicka to play Carle in a creative role @ 'AM' tbh.

The world is coming to an end, people.
Just heard Robbie Slater on Fox Sports News claiming that the Mariners should be able to appeal, and that whilst Reddy's red should be rescinded, Perez should not have been suspended.

what a farce! absolutely ridiculous
everyone whinges about our style. But the moment we threaten...they shoot us down with this absolute stupidity.
Next 2 games are both home games...I paid $200 to watch perez this season, and the FFA are screwing me over!
I half hope we win with the most dour and unattractive football the next 2 weeks (as opposed to winning pretty)

and you were saying

Where's my f***ing headbutt emoticon!!!! :headbutt: :headbutt: :headbutt:

Was saying...

Just how dumb I was becoming to have forgotten that this is a competition that right from the outset has always shown that its key belief is that it needs it's two largest cities to be its flagships and do well - and that subsequently they will always come first. In this case angry fans demand retribution or SFC may draw even more pathetic crowds. Mission complete.

Sooner Rovers come in and there's a real football club in Sydney the better.

MRP,

Go and review Alex Brosque retrospectively and you'll have to suspend him for the next ten years. Culina? Muscat? the list goes on and on...

Annnnnd then!! We could move onto repeated serial offenders of violent conduct and abuse!!

Because... I'd cop this whole incident sweet on the chin if that was really going to be the result, and we'd see our game, genuinely cleaned up with a tough zero tolerance policy enforced by MRP from here on in. Australia... a true pioneer for "fair Play" in world football...??

But I think not.

I think the next play should be something along the lines of...

FFA statement by - ISUK SIDCOCK ONDASIDE

" We believe the MRP has made a strong and clear statement that, diving will not be tolerated in the Australian game and we applaud this decision. (Pauses for the expected and duly received applause) We the FFA feel this was sorely necessary with the (Pauses for effect, furrowing his brow and deepening his tone) ...unfortunate... incidents that we have seen take place over this last weekend. However, we also recognise that the game, its players and its referees do have our trust and our confidence, and that while clearly the MRP can be used as a great tool for justice, we also intend to stay true to the "roots" (really enjoys hitting that double o) and principles of our game, and so do aslo vow to you all, that we will not let video review become the next big brother and nitpick to the point of detriment to our great game."

basks in the applause.... and smiles broadly while reminiscing on his use of Big brother and nit picking as the perfect choice of negatives to meet his agenda...

Of course it all just translates to...

And now we will juts go back to letting whatever shit go we want again. Cheers ignorant cock suckers. Be sure to come to the next game won't you.

Or... they may use their other tact.

Not bother saying anything and go back unabashed to just arbitrarily selecting things for the MRP if it pisses them off or conflicts with their agendas.

So Friday...

No Perez...

By god I hope we played fired up as all hell and win our next two games!!!

Henderson in goals Restrepo....

Because,

A - Last year Henderson had arguably the worst defence in the league in front of him so i don't thikn he's as crap as you say.

B - Ryan is a quality stopper, and has a lot of promise, but critically I don't think has what it takes to command the box at this level as yet. At this I think henderson will do a better job. We can't drop balls and flap at crosses and expect to win many games.

Let me get this straight, the FFA allow at least a few acts of simulation to occur in virtually every A-League game that I've ever seen yet this particular act of simulation gets Perez banned for two matches.

Apparently, this act of simulation was worse than others because it led to a penalty.

So, in conclusion, players should be made aware that the act of simulation is generally okay. That is, unless a penalty may be given. Therefore, before simulating, players must always assess whether it may result in a penalty. If it could result in a penalty, the player should not simulate because, in that situation, based upon the alignment of the planets (or some such other rendom process completely at the discretion of the MRP within guidelines that are not known to anyone including the MRP themselves), you may or may not receive a 2 match ban.

Players will also be required to take into account the randomness of this penalty. Performing simulation at a time when these planets are aligned results in a suspension that far exceeds the penalties applied to the likes of Ufuk Talay (went into a tackle studs first on Dean Heffernan's calf and broke his leg - not even a foul given), Joel Griffiths (flicks a ref's assistant in the nuts with obvious dissent - not even a foul given) and basically the worst foul you can think of in 99% of the matches played during the season including every foul that ends in a red card. Consequently, players are required to monitor the alignment of the planets at all times.

Furthermore, the MRP reserves the right to screw up your reputation as a professional footballer in this random fashion and will of course offer you no right of appeal. This lack of right of appeal is considered fair and reasonable because, well, the planets were aligned at the time thats all.

Does that sum it up?????

In-f**king-credible.

And I haven't seen one piece of evidence in 5 seasons that there will be any consistancy in applying rules like this as they tend to make an example of someone and then back off because apparently the controversy all gets too hard for them. So I've no reason to believe that we won't simply be shafted and then next week someone else will do a similar thing and get away with it completely.

How far back can we go with the retrospective farce? Can we get Reddy banned for stomping on O'Sullivan up in Newcastle in Season One during the first semi? Can we get him banned for stomping on Rech when he was playing for roar? Can we get Payne banned for that handball last season that changed the game against the nix? Can we get Culina banned for last season's Oscar winning performance against Brisbane where he tripped over Moore's outstretched, albeit invisible, leg? Ali Abbas, Pedj... the list goes on, its rubbish. Diving is a part of the game now accept it- every team has its share. Who cares, move on let him play.

Perez might have been theatrical, but the fact remains that there isn't a video that clearly shows no contact. There's no clear view of fresh air between Reddy's hands and Perez's foot. How they can be so sure that it's a dive as to apply a two match ban is beyond me.

I appreciate what the FFA are trying to do, but take on the fresh air dives, not the tough calls.

Oh, and Jaza, we didn't gain a point through cheating, we were stiffed two more because the AR can't pick offsides.
