In regards to the fans being fickle, things like that - it's not like fans have been wavering support for no reason. Fans want to see results, understandably - and Izzo this season is a hundred times better than last season. I don't think that's controversial to say.
I hope that he doesn't continue to blame the fans to the extent that he doesn't want to be a part of the club - to be blunt, that's also a part of his own maturation process in learning to deal with that (I would think that looking on social media isn't a healthy habit for many players) - and I would presume that the club take a role in guiding the young players through these difficulties, but as fans we can recognise when somebody has been hurting. I feel like it needs saying again that abusing them on the street is completely unacceptable - they're allowed to have their own lives, and the sense of community is one of the things we market the club on. Last thing we want is for that sense of community - the idea that they can't go anywhere without being recognised - to be the thing they hate most about the place.
I wonder what we, as fans, can do to engage with Izzo and show support? Song? Banner? Just as an appreciation of the grit and maturity he's demonstrated in bettering himself like that - for me, a recognition of where he is now is a bit deeper than a typical recognition of any other well-performing player. Izzo seems to still feel like the past makes the current support mean less; I can't speak for others on here, but the past makes his current performance mean more to me.
And from there if he truly does hold a grudge, then so be it. We can do no more than try to show support.
