ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That was luckily ... anyone know why we played the same day we travelled ...
Apparently it was to combat the experiences from previous times where the team travelled the previous day. The boys would wake up at their normal East Coast time and were flat by the time they played. Alistair Edwards first game was a win against us over there where we travelled the previous day.

diamond, didn't expect that
Fox can't pick their WM from their magic square, so best you ignore their display. We're a 4-2-3-1 in attack and a 4-4-2 in defence and have been since the start of last year.

It actually was an improvement but there is still a long way to go. We had the majority of possession for a change although i doubt much of that was in Perth's half.
There was one moment when we had a free kick in their half and we had 3 players in the box and everyone else behind the ball....WTF.

On the positive side....

The back four looked the best they have looked all season. Griffiths looked like the answer.
Reddy continued his good form.
Simon and Duke in the same side is a handful for any side.
WeeMac grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.
Flores was looking like a leader and driving the players on around him.
Caceras looked good.

Reddy 7. One fantastic save and commands his box quite well.
Storm Boy 7. Looks quality and overlapped well in the second half.
Rose 7.5. Impressive. Looked our best defender last night.
Tesco 7. Got done very badly on their goal but apart from that was decent.
Griffo2. 7.5 Great debut. Wanted the ball and looked assured.
WeeMac 8. Switched on after 30 mins and was great thereafter. Quality finish and unlucky not to have a brace. MOM.
Hutcho 4. Ponderous and lazy.
Flores 7.5. Showed lots of quality and desire.
Caceras 7. We look better with him in the side.
Duke 7.5. A real handful and scored a quality winner. He looked much better when he drove forward as he was ineffectual when we all sat far too deep in the first 30 mins.
Simon 7. Worked hard and I thought he had pinched the equaliser.

Mossy 8. Improvement in our shape and took a hard decision that paid off handsomely with the selection of Brett Griffiths.

3pts WeeMac
2pts Duke
1pt Rose and Griff.

Good summation by Wombat.
I was impressed with Griff, he and Sainsbury looked comfortable. Back 4 good.
Caceras was good.
Great save and sweeping header by Reddy, but a couple of fumbles on the ground could have been costly.
Hutch had problems with his decision making on the ball, and looked slow.
Matty still a long way from his best.
The team combination is still a long way from gelling.
If Caceras continues his form, Monty regains fitness and the mid field continues to struggle in finding a killer path for the ball from the back to the front, a difficult decision will soon have to be made.

Do u think that he's more better than reddy:rolleyes:

Reddy deserves our support. He is a Mariners player now and looks like a very good keeper. We should thank Arnie for him.
Burns is a dirty Musc**t like player. I'd love to give him a Ong Back style elbow to keep True Believer happy.

3. Storm Boy
2. Glinch
1. Flores

Several beautiful balls from Flores, just doesn't have the steam but makes up for it. You could see wee mac wanted a basket of goals, shame he only got one. I am loving Roux, one cross at towards the end which he could have done better but other than that was great. He was actually sprinting in injury time which was great to see.
Oh and Burns can go to hell, I understand his knock on Simon, I'll give him that, but no need to stand on your opposing captains leg while he is down! Poor form.

BrisRecky

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
firstly my t-box shat itself with 7 to go so I missed the win...BUT....clearly Wee Mac was on a revenge mission after the All whites drubbing..he shoulda had a couple at least...bit concerned that its taking us about 30 minutes to get going...I'm sure Mossy will broach the subject...young Griffo done good as did Reddy again...although he hangs around outside the area a bit much for my comfort....Flores still appears to be 3 thought processes in front of everyone else ( except maybe mickey)...STILL..A WIN IS A WIN IS A WIN

Said on Fox it was Clarkey's call. Long flight plus time difference leads to fatigue. Travel and play on the same day takes the time difference out of the equation. That is the theory anyway.

It seems he's well and truly got the players and coaching staff support. This seems a happy enough moment:

He's now cemented the spot on form, seems to be playing with pride in the shirt and no sign of anything like had occurred in the past at other clubs.
Yep, thanks Arnie. I do feel for JP but time for Mariners fans to stop hating on a Mariner.

Mcbreen a shadow of himself based on what I saw that game... I heard he was sick but geez, barely jogged when he lost the ball, last year he sprinted the whole game!

While Gallas went off last night, Caceres for Monty sparked a change in us. I quite like Caceres in that deep role, he's plenty tough and he's a far better ball player than Monty. He's also different to Hutch, so he's more of a foil than a duplication. Hutch's role is set and it's still plenty effective, I think Caceres gives us more than Monty does.

This isn't the first time that a forced change for Monty has yielded arguably better results - see also 2013 A-League Grand Final. ;)

Oh, and as for our previous defensive frailty - Brent Griffiths, take a bow son. Super game, and I think Anderson and Seip can take a ticket and wait until their numbers are called because he looks closer to Sainsbury's standard than either at the moment.
