ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Zelic is a clown and that is his role with Fox.

He is aiming to take the village idiot role from Bosnich and hence move up in the world.

snip

I was watching the BT telecast from the UK and thinking what my relatives in England must be making of Zelic's inane rambling and cackling. I was feeling seriously embarrassed for Aussie football.

You sound really really old. Maybe you need to look up "active support" in the dictionary

This was a great opportunity to display a bit of "kinship" with your fellow fans but you'd rather sit on your arse and go tut-tut about young people having a drink and a laugh (and getting harassed by Wanderers fans as it turns out)

Shame on you

Radar,
For those of us that didn't go what happened?

Radar,
For those of us that didn't go what happened?

It was really a non event.
A number of us rocked into the Active Support Bay and stood down the front. We found there was a large number of WSW fans and a smattering of CCM fans who were sitting down. Couple of WSW fans got abusive, and one went and got security, who tried to force us to sit. So, the rest of the CCM supporters in the bay stood up with us in support of our right to stand in the designated active support bay.
Riot squad were summoned, before Dan the membership man as well as a WSW staffer came down, explained to the security and police what we had already told them - that we were not in breach of terms of entry or code of conduct, that we were in the designated active support bay, and that if we had to sit down then perhaps they could go and ask the RBB and WST to also sit down. Security agreed, half the bay remained standing and common sense won out in the end. Police were bemused as to why they were even called over in the first place.

@Coach - tell me again how we were an "embarrassment"? How we brought shame to the club? How we were on the verge of being thrown out? None of that happened pal, but hey whatever you want to believe. I find it funny how you're happy to sit behind a keyboard and tell us how "disgusting" we were, but not willing to say anything at the time - in spite of how "shameful" we apparently were.

Back the club? Back active support!
Club and members are one and the same to me.....unless you go and break the law.
Club = members, members = club. Lets back each other. The rest of the world can go and get f**ked.

Stay out of the sunshine snowflake.....
You're as much of a disgrace to the club as this "Prior" person is. You should consider handing in your membership if you continue with such disgusting behaviour.

:D

(I may or may not be trolling - I was there on Saturday and we were harmless at best and hilariously ribald at worst)

I was there with my Wife and youngish daughter and you want me to stand up to 10-15 drunk fools that wanted to intimidate, jeez you must be courageous. As someone else said here you behavour was poor. Don't say you were not drunk when a number of you had drinks in both hands and I quote one of the women in your group at the top of her voice - 'I'm F$%king blind and I'm not f$%king going anywhere, followed by these arseholes can get f$%ked. This coupled with a number of the group just yelling out 'F$%k off' for seemingly no reason with the Referree called a Prick, and arsehole, at various times (screaming). In the end we moved as my daughter felt intimidated. So clearly 'active support' means you don't have to act with civility and you can behave as you like. Please don't be meladramatic calling them riot police they were crowd control police. What I did see was how couragous you all were when the bloke down the front challenged you and you went to water. You are nothing but a bunch of common baffoons using your support of my club as a licence to behave poorly. As I said not a great advertisment for our club - grow up!

Don't know why I'm wasting my time but here I go...
Nobody "went to water". Old mate who was a Wanderers fan IN THE AWAY BAY told us to sit down and a number of us told him where to go. I don't have patients for idiots who are in the wrong. Same goes for the security and ticket people who tried to tell us we couldn't stand. This then resulted in him hilariously going to get the police. *Six* police turned up at the top of the bay and it looked like they were trying to contain their laughter at why they had been summoned. If you don't know by now that an away and or active section is going to have some swearing or drinking you're either new or an idiot. I'm going for the latter for yourself.
Next time buy your tickets somewhere else and let those of us who want to try and create some kind of atmosphere do so.

That's the last I'm going to say on it.

Happy with a point away to them. We rode our luck and could easily have been 3 or 4 down at HT but we made the most of it and stayed in the game. Was the easiest goal he'll score but I'm stoked for Bezza getting his starting debut after watching him come through youth and academy. He wasn't perfect but he will keep growing. Roy is quickly becoming my favourite player I think. The guy works his ass off and is passionate as hell. That goal was all him.
3 points is a real possibility against Adelaide this week with their injuries and dodgy form. If we manage that it's a solid start to the season.

@Coach was it your first away game? Or first game even?
The away supporters bay isn't meant to be a family bay. It isn't meant to hold all the supporters of the away team.
Anyone who's ever been to an away game should know this by now.
And the club should make it clear.

On that actually, gotta say that they've usually kept a pretty decent level of self-policing in bay 16 when there are kids around... Bearing that in mind, I think there are situations where allowances have to be made, such as Jest games or when you're at an away game.

There's a reason why we get a smattering of away fans sitting spread out in the stadium at home games, and it's not all about the sun... Plenty do so because they're not interested in the active support areas.
It was a dire game, but I went to the last WSW game last season and I gotta say, I was impressed with some of our travelling grannies - they might knit while watching the game, but they sure seem to give as good as they get ;)...
I figure if they can take it, it's manageable - otherwise, there are plenty of seats in the non-active areas where noone will heckle you...

I take back the last line about the club making it clear. I didn't go so didn't buy tickets.
Just looking at tickets for the next home game for WSW and it looks pretty clear to me.

Away Team Active Area.
I think from that it would be safe to assume that if you don't go in the active area - i.e. Bay 16 - at home games, why would you go there for an away game?

I won't waste anymore time on this group of muppetts, as you have said, drunken behavour and foul landguage is acceptable as a fan. This really is a sad indictment on you as individuals that you consider this behaviour as acceptable. Your Mum's and Dad's would be so proud.

. i think part of the problem is that the Club has done the opposite of making this clear - the promo stuff i read prior to the match (and i admit i don't read it all). this from the Club's article "guide to the away game"

Extract:
How to purchase tickets

We want to make as much noise as possible and get behind Paolo’s Mariners! Central Coast Mariners supporters are encouraged to sit together and buy tickets into the ‘Away Active Bay’ which is SECTION 237.

Read more at http://www.ccmariners.com.au/articl...4fscmheza42n15dir66s9fv16#m9UpygUmIHsfHujZ.99

. so i am not taking sides but i can see why people's sensitivities have been voiced

So some mixed messages about what the Away Active Bay is for?
I always thought it was just like the home active bay, but away.
If you don't go there at home, don't go there away.
Maybe it's not that simple?

Okay THIS is the last I'll say on it, I swear.

Mum was proud. She's 54 years old and was on her feet in the away bay trying to get others involved. Not sitting on her ass being an old fuddy duddy. (Shoutout to you older folk who get involved, I know you're out there). She got an away bay ticket knowing what to expect and she got it.

Just because I had a drink in each hand doesn't make me "drunk". For all you know they could've been my first 2 of the day (matter of fact they were 3 and 4 but hey, sue me).
No woman in our group was screaming "I'm f**king blind and I'm not f**king going anywhere".
Yes there was one guy in the bay (not part of the group we attended with) who continuously yelled "f**k" several times at the top of his lungs and was told to curb his language - by me, the drunken "common baffoon".
I think you'll find the cops that were deployed were actually part of the PORS pal.
No one went to water, we all continued to stand in the same spot, as was our right.
Glad you moved but. I bet you're the kind of person who sends an angry email to strata if someone hangs a towel off their balcony railing in an apartment, but won't say anything to the person in question... Or the kind of person who would complain that there's drunk people at a nightclub. Or the kind of person who would move in next door to a well known live music venue, and then write noise complaints to council every weekend. Or the kind of person who complains the bathroom lines are too long. Or kinda like this:
