Given that Powell is not really a #10 and is really acting as a second striker and that Fab is now starting on the right is it worth considering Trent for the Powell role. He has the speed to follow into the box from deeper and has an eye for goal.

For those who regularly watch the NYL and academy games has he ever played in that sort of role.

On another note - Izzo had a strong game - really seems to have laid his demons from last year to rest. Still looking for a string of clean sheets though;)

I think he could play there. But he does take the wrong option sometimes and his passing is poor sometimes BUT if he can learn to hold up the ball a bit he could be a world beater there.

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
admittedly, after the first minute and a bit, I was thinking quite negatively....but that subsided after a bit, and I'll reiterate, once Connor and Fab get their targeting locked were in for a run of scoring we havent seen in a while....also how good was Galloway I dont know if its because he played with Connor in Victory, but they had some kind of sympatico (?) going down their side of the pitch....and Izzo ripped off a couple of roaring stops, NOW...on commentary was that dribbling idiot Ned fkn Zelic, when he questioned how fast Budgies 100 mtr time was ...
I tweeted him and asked him if he had any human DNA..fn moron....you know football commentary is shit when Andy Harper is the shining light

I listened on the radio driving to a conference. I'm delighted with the result. We conceded fewer than 2 and won a point. I'd actually like to see a full match replay for the first time in a couple of years.
Good on Paul Okon. And Mitch Nichols

Watched this at home so no comments on the away bay. Agree that Zelic shouldn't be any were near a microphone.

Like some had the sh&ts after 3 minutes and for most of the first half. Really enjoyed when we started pushing forward faster in the second half and the Wanders couldn't handle it. Wanders definitely not as good as last year and will struggle to make the 6 IMO and you can see SFC and City easily towling them up more than once this year.

Felt good after the game in that we managed to salvage a point out of this game. Felt we played better against Roar with no result and played worst this week with a point. But that's football.

Ref clearly felt threatened by Drive By crowd and gave them a lot of 50/50 calls and I'm dumb founded by the hand ball. Paolo is finding out that CCM get rough decisions every week and no body at the FFA really cares as we are just a minnow. Liked his press conference after the game were he wouldn't get involved in sledging the ref and Peacock congratulated him on saving some money and not being fined.

I'm committed to being patient and agree with the players who were interviewed after the game that this is a different side mentally than last year. Izzo is a case in point and I really hope he does reach the potential a lot think he has.

Another tuff trip ahead to an injury ravaged United but I've watched all their games and they will be hard to beat and will be in the mix at seasons end when they get their experienced players back.

The off-sides on Buhagiar are getting frustrated though, we've lost more than one clear-cut opportunity through him being called on a dubioius offside.
Considering his pace is well known . It just makes the offside call by the touchee .
Reprehensible .

The worst bit is i thought the guy that refreed the game last night was the best we've had this season

Zelic is a clown and that is his role with Fox.

He is aiming to take the village idiot role from Bosnich and hence move up in the world.

However, I watched the game on tv and have been interested to see the diversity of views posted here. I will watch the replay to see if I change my first impressions, but the main impression I got was as I stated earlier, Galloway is a massive improvement over Neil at left back and actually understands how to play the position.

I loved Roy's interview after the match, he is a definite positive for the team.

Well sir, there is chronological age and then there is acting like an old fuddy-duddy and telling those pesky teens to get off your lawn. Imagine complaining about swearing in an active Bay. Gee wilikers

I was flying back from a conference . Nothing to do with me.

Old mate might want to avoid Newcastle away.

Coach has a point.

This 'Prior' character was standing, drinking and just generally being a loud nuisance. Life ban from all A-League stadia would be too kind for a lout like him.

I didn't know that there was an active bay.

Trent is way to soft IMO
He gets bumped off very easily. Is only effective in space.
Definitely not a #10 option
