First half crap second half woeful the youth boys have ability and its a good idea to blood them but they got no support or insperation from the experianced guys in the team. Desperatly need quality players and a big name on the paddock WHO WILL INSPIRE , Ifill was terrific well done Wellington good luck in the final series and what a crap way to thank LM showed a lot of commitment there boys for his last game as coach.

Firstly, thanks Lawrie and all the best ... but I bet you remembered why you were stepping down.  :eek:verhead:

Well done 'Nix, 3-0 a fair scoreline ... hope you get the scum next week and smash them.

Young fellows were patchy but showed some promise .... will learn a lot from their game time ... good luck in rest of NYL  :grouphug:

Chris Beath ... the poor man's Matthew Breeze (ffs. you either use your whistle or not ... when you do the players (eg. Crowell) stop, muppet!  As for the penalty turned down!!  :headbutt:

After the second goal when the players were asking Beath what the hell he was thinking, You could see on his face that he knew he stuffed up.. Think he blew the whistle after the ball was kicked, hence Crowell stopping HENCE Phoenix scoring. SHOCKER!!

Regardless, Nix dominated! well done and good luck.

Dire performance, possibly the worst I can recall from us.

Young guys needed the experienced ones to step up and they didnt.

The only positive is that it is likely that only 3 or 4 of that starting XI will be taking the field for our first game under Arnoldout

"As they bellowed, the Central Coast players, to a man, converged on referee Beath, fair seething with rage at his actions at the free-kick which led to the goal, the visitors having stopped in response to his whistle. The official merely smiled, waved the protests away, then carded Matt Simon for failing to comply with his request - unbelievable officiating!!"

says it all haha

I hate being negative... but the facts are...

Wilko didn't lead and it hurts to see him smiling and laughing on the whistle when we just went down 3 zip.

Huke and Crowell were very poor and have done the possibility of resigning no favours at all. Distribution was abysmal. Both DM's really and we have Hutch and Pedj in front of them imo.

Panni was ok all things considered I thought, but needs to back himself and be more involved - but missed some key runs, one from Porter and a couple from Lewis.

Porter was ok - but out of position and it showed.

Matty - was nice to see him shooting from outside the box for once - but "battling hard" just simply isn't enough. I find him very frustrating to watch atm.

Boogs one of our only decent players first half I thought - but not second half.

Thought Lewis was good, we looked MUCH better when we started actually going up his side and letting him see the ball.

Brady... mmmm... ok I guess... would have prefered to see him upfront in a 442 with Matty. Tough gig to be fair to all the youth... and he deserved the pen.

Clarkey - well... it's his last game.

D'Mac - sigh...

Fitzgerald - gave the ball away a bit to clearly try and fit in with the rest of the team.... but otherwise good energy and looked ok.

Bernie. In a cameo role - thought he showed sincere moments of class again and believe we should sign this kid up.

Other thoughts...

We clearly missed Hutch.

Beath is a complete joke.  :redcard:

Lone striker formations are so depressing to watch... *sighs and thinks of the WC*

Season is over.
We won the derby.
Change is coming.

Thought the Kiwi broadcaster did a great job at the conclusion of the game to mention Lawries departure.........NOT! If we had played Lawries last game at any other club a big deal would have been made by Fox I have no doubts. These annoying piece of shit commentators drive me insane with their bias and uninformed calling of the game! Asian Confederation might be on to something.....PISS 'EM OFF!!

Even our NZ writer couldn't find a kind word for Beath:

BOTN Report: http://back-of-the-net.com/2009-2010/R27/R27-WPvsCC.htm

Is Beath a real person, or just the result of some hideous medical experiment?

Wilko the most unispiring leader of a football team I have ever seen on current form might be lucky to make the bench next year let alone captain the team. Our young striker Bernie showed me enough with his time on the field that he looks the part tall can use his feet will be an asset. Matty Simon rough as bags like a spoiled brat when challaged for the ball first touch is dreadful not up to this standard of football . Ref wasnt great but he didnt but the ball into the back of the net 3 times so dont pass the blame and kiwi broadcasters didnt mention Lawrie so what I dont think LM will lose sleep over it.

In fairness to them they spent a good deal of the first half talking about Lawrie and were generous in their praise of him.

Agree with other comments above- Wilko's smiling really irritated me, the performance was terrible and he should have been livid with it. Wilko seems like a great guy and all but I do think someone like Hutch or Doig (anyone with that bit of mongrel) needs to be captain next year. Someone to keep the heads up and hold the team to account.

Bernie should surely get a senior contract for next year- looked classy when he came on and was holding the ball up quite well. A few more cameos like that early next year and he should develop really well.
