Hi all, I dont suppose any of you will be making the journey to the ring of fire for the game, but if any of you do happen along, why not drop in at the back bencher before hand and have a pint or seven with the yellow fever boys? Hope to see you there.
Unlikely - we're dedicated, but not that dedicated. I have fond memories from my trip there 2 years ago, (or was it 3?). I hope you do well, (after Friday)!

I know at least one western stand fan attending, I won't label her a COF, but not sure she is into drinking pints.

I hope to get an auspicious fixture next season with our away trip to Wellington coinciding with my wife's holiday options - camper van tour here we come.

Why is Doig out? Is he injured (again)? Can he last more than three games?

He picked up a knock against the scum, hence why he was subbed.

Lawrie's twitter-
"I have just arrived at the haven for recovery.will have to check on doig and kwasnik as both have knocks.we travel for nz tomorrow"

"Doig and kwasnik out for nz trip its a great chance for the young ones tonight to make the 1st team squad for friday night"

I'd say they are just not risking him and it gives a chance to play youth.

Maybe this game will be where we break our winless/goalless 2-year streak against Shebangabang. It's gotta be broken sometime, why not now?

After the effort by Panni and Brady last week I am really looking forward to seeing more of them and maybe even getting to see how Bernie and Nick fit into the senior team.

BTW - what happened to Matthew Ryan - or is that a typo?

Jonathan BROWN (groin - 2 weeks)

interesting, maybe he doesn't suck after all, maybe his disappearance is due to injury?

bench of 2 strikers and a midfielder yet to make a senior debut*, we better score some GOALS!!!!

*based on 442 formation, if we play 433 then 1 striker and 2 mids on the bench

I fail to see the point in promoting D-Mac rather then another young lad. Only thing i can think of is that lawrie wants to give him some game time in what is his last match

It will be very interesting but in regard to your point Crowell, Porter, Smith and Lewis can all drop back into defence if it came to that.

excellent point mate, i was thinking options more than cover: eg if the midfield are getting pumped the only option the bench provides is basically to swap out strikers or debut the new kid

just putting this out there....

HUKE    WILKO    BOOGAARD  CLARK
    PORTER    CROWELL    LEWIS
      SMITH        SIMON    IBINI-ISEI

bench NIKAS, D-MAC, FITZGERALD, RYAN (GK)

Based on his performance for the yoof the other night, it must be because LM is nervous about starting a young player in what will be an intimidating atmosphere.

I believe the sheepshaggers are letting kids in for free - bloody well done. Wish we did the same because kids bring parent with them who DO spend money...........

or maybe the groin injury is a result of him sucking

e.g. travis' hip flexor injury
