in recent times your 'hard calls against the club' have been that CCM are bad for not reserving your special seat at ACL matches and that they played awful football against Suwon. the first is something that is your choice to be grumpy over and that's fine and the second was just plain wrong. time to climb down off that high horse hey.
please by all means don't stop posting what you think though, i support you for that and don't have a problem with it. but don't tell others they're yes men because they don't agree with you or because they look at the positives of the situation

i didn't call anyone a yes man/woman. i just agreed with a sentement from a like minded supporter.
we were shit against suwon and this has us at a great disadvantage for a multi million dollar honey pot . it also, not doubt lead to a lack of self belief against the drive by's. that cost us 1st place.
many other people have complained about the seating. wasn't everyone rapped at the two reserved bays up stairs.
grumpy .no .incandescent with rage, absoluelty . i hate seeing the same cock ups repeated again and again.

feel free

Rose is having an absolute shocker. And the rest of the team is not much better. Bloody depressing.

I haven't seen us this flat all year, slow slow passing and transition very poor performance by the boys.

Epic FAIL tonight. Very few looked interested. The commentators were spot on. They were also puzzled at our effort. I agree with them that McGlinchey was our best.

McBreen of old. I want the new McBreen please.

Pedj invisible second half.

Arnie. Time to find a new left back. Combining Rose and Sterjovski is always going to fail.

Congratulations WSW for winning the Premiership.

Alright forum... Bring out your pain.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible game. Probably our worst performance of the season at about the worst possible time to have it. Movement was far too slow all over the park. Though at least Bernie and Weemac tried (and Duke and Olly when on) Monty shocker. McBreen shocker. Hutcho shocker. Sainsbury must equalise, shocker. Sterjovski should not even be on the bench, let alone starting anymore, all he offers is "calm". The difference between him Olly and Fitzy is stark. I can easily imagine Fitzy starting there instead and that being a completely different result.

Sydney (aside from Grant and ADP) are a bloody awful side at best, yet all they had to do is stay tight and press and we were even more useless. Damn that was painful. And it's going to be hard travelling OS and getting a win in Japan on the back of that.

We always talk about "character" at these times. But frankly, we just need the ball in the f**king net.

For the first time I really, desperately, missed Tommy tonight.

I'm good at being philosophical. But that hurt. So expect a few people will be going bananas on here. It's not over till the fat lady sings, but any chance of the premiership just got a lot less likely.

Sauce Bottle losing altitude

Slowly but surely the air is seaping out of the Mariners sauce bottle; it is in serious danger of crash landing. Only two weeks ago the Mariners slammed six goals past Melbourne Victory: three games later they haven’t scored a goal. If the Wanderers win against Wellington then it is all but over for the Premier’s Plate, the title that Graham Arnold values most of all.

I got up at 6 am to watch this on the internet; I wish I hadn’t. The internet stream was slow and disjointed, just like the Mariners who never really looked likely to win this game. They were flat and uninspired, going through the motions but playing without any conviction. Confidence is the most fickle thing and suddenly the Mariners seem to have lost it.

As a metaphor for the game Arnie started the wooden Sterjovski for the live wire Duke and it seemed to set the tone. This game never lived up to the fire and brimstone of the previous Sydney 0-1 loss or to the freedom and spirit of the 7-2 extravaganza.

Neither side looked particularly likely in the first half so it wasn’t really a surprise that the opening goal took a deflection, or two, to go past Ryan. Ryall was too easily allowed to run across the penalty area and proved the adage that if you shoot you always have a chance to score. The Mariners almost seemed to not want to be there.

Sainsbury missed a gift early in the second half when Janjetovic and a defender messed up a clearance but that was the only clear chance for them in a game of half chances and few clear opportunities. McGlinchey and then McBreen both had a dig from distance without really troubling the keeper and then Mat Ryan saved the Mariners bacon went he got his finger tips to Del Piero’s shot.

The Mariners had all the possession but Sydney defended deep, happy to sit on the lead. Chianese came on for the anonymous Joel Griffiths and very soon after had doubled the Sydney lead. It was a goal that summed up the Mariners performance: McBreen received the ball and took the wrong option, turning into two defenders instead of turning the other way into space; Sydney won possession and a quick change of passes, very similar to Western Sydney’s winner, cut through the Mariners back line and Ryan had no chance.

The Mariners body language said it all, heads down, shoulders slumped, they really didn’t have it in them to lift. Ryan had to produce another smart save; Duke might have reduced the deficit late on. Sydney walked away comfortable winners. This was the Mariners heaviest defeat of the season; whatever the WSW result tomorrow against Phoenix Arnie and the coaching staff have to very quickly bring back the belief and confidence in this team.

MoM hard to pick on such a night but I give it to Ryan for a couple of very smart saves.

Pathetic.

Hutchinson needs a spell.
Sterj should never ever start.
Duke and Olly must start.
Bernie was probably our worst player and Weemac our best.

Given the way we have played throughout most of the season, who would have thought we would be goal-less through three consecutive games?
