i think our problem with pelle is he's not a No 10. he's a right side running player.
id like to play him on the right ,put bernie up front and rest a very tired looking macka

stones welcome
Our problem with Pelle is he isn't good enough wherever he plays. Sorry.

No stones, but, the problem with Pelles and even to an extent Sterjovski, the A-league has sadly passed them by.

When Pelles first came to Mariners he absolutely killed in the trial games but just wasn't up to it against A-league opposition. Seems like a nice guy, but unfortunately there are plenty of younger guys to pick in front of him.

Tb...you are a very welcome loose canon amongst some of the yes men that post here BUT are you ripped our what?....Pelle is a muppet. He has had plenty of chances but has failed to deliver on every single occasion.
Top bloke and great yoof player (when not spitting)......but a million miles away from a staring player

Even the bloke that wanted to start fitz in front oh olly is misguided. Only game he stated he was a dud.....but he has looked good off the bench.
Only should be close to the first bloke picked on the team sheet in our current midfield.

In my team the number 10 would be Caceres. No doubts. He can also play holding mid. He's a much better footballer than Hutch and Mont put together. What happened to this kid? Is he still at Mariners? Why wasn't he given any more chances? While working down in Sydney this week I was told by a person who is involved with WSW that they were going to try and get him. It will be a shame to loose this kid but I wouldn't blame him if he left.
Can't believe that Pelles is still an option for some forumites.

Great result in Newcastle tonight with Perth beating Scum 2-1. That means the Jets will be busting a gut to beat WSW in the final round to confirm a spot in the finals. We must win tomorrow, no excuses.

I believe that bloke was me.

There seems to be a lot of love for Olly on here, just my opinion but i i dont see what you guys see in him? Stats don't lie either 65 games 3 goals 10 assists, he loves to shoot aswell just not on target 64 shots 19 on target and only 3 goals.....

Averaging 3 assists a season and less than one goal a season for an attacking mid just doesnt cut it for me.

I agree with Wombat.

But then I would.

Because I suspect I'm one of theaformentioned yes men around here :tinfoilhat:

I rate Olly. You have highlighted the areas where surely any would agree that he most needs to improve. But he gets a LOT of important work done, keeps our midfield buzzing and is capable of helping us retain vital possession when we are being pressed hard with his excellent close control and feet. If he could score regularly, he would be among the better players in the HAl, much as Murdocca would be.

12th, I really like Caceres too, but I think you maybe reading too much into it?

Successful sides are always tough to break into, and we are a good squad. Caceres in all honesty has not done enough yet to be starting over any of our current starting 11. And bench wise... I think tbf he has to be rated as being behind Sterj, Olly, Anderson, Duke and perhaps Fitzgerald too who had a good game last week.

I hope to see him in our next series of 3 games in the week squad rotations. But currently, selecting a second number 10 on the bench with our formation is difficult, you have to have Anderson on the bench, and Duke if he is not starting. So that means he has to being picked depending on the starting side over say Olly, Fitz, Sterj, or some weeks Bernie... He wouldn't be getting game time at WSW either atm. But if he sticks with us, GA has already spoken of how he rates him and I'm sure he'll get more chances.

I also like Caceras, and I am hoping he sticks around. Players such as Trent, Bernie and Duke have all served their time in Yoof, and are now reaping the dividends. Here's hoping that Caceras (and Brad McDonald for that matter) do the same.

Just to link this to the actual topic of the thread (vs Bling...), I would not be surprised if we saw Caceras on the bench and getting some game time, now that Yoof has finished.

I'd like to see him and the Fraud replaced by 2 young hopefuls.

If you have to have shite in your squad, they should be as cheap as possible.

Talking of wage thieves, Musialik is back training with the scum.

Caceres is contracted until the end of next season. From all accounts his pre-season from was very good until being injured - which set him back a couple of months. His chances since have been limited given the position of the team.

I fully expect Caceres to step up - whether it is in this campaign or the next. The combinations between Fitzy, Duke and Bernie have given us a different outlet from before. The addition of Caceres will only add to this.

in recent times your 'hard calls against the club' have been that CCM are bad for not reserving your special seat at ACL matches and that they played awful football against Suwon. the first is something that is your choice to be grumpy over and that's fine and the second was just plain wrong. time to climb down off that high horse hey.
please by all means don't stop posting what you think though, i support you for that and don't have a problem with it. but don't tell others they're yes men because they don't agree with you or because they look at the positives of the situation
