Well - this season the football gods have shoved us over onto our backs,
stood on our shoulders,
and pissed on our face.
Just noticed the occasional kick to the side of the head we're copping during it too

Unfortunately it's mostly self inflicted.

I expected to lose this. Let's face it we all did. But the biggest blow is Roux's injury (poor guy), followed by losing half our back line and Ferreira for the derby

As an aside - me wonders if we'll seek an injury replacement. Everton? Unlikely

So, thoughts.
Confidence is a big problem. Start of the game they seemed to lack confidence, and City knew they could sit back and wait for us to screw up. We gained that back a bit, but the injury combined with the penalty and goal destroyed us. Without that goal we would have had a chance at this once, but we had no momentum, no energy. Strikers stopped running for the ball, we just lost everything after that.
Our off-the-ball movement up front was woeful, a lot of standing around staring at the guy with the ball. One thing we've lost since the start of the season is the confidence our players have to pack ourselves. Even Austin made a few safe (and terrible) passes, despite having the pace to beat his marker. Team confidence couldn't be lower.
We missed Garcia - after the penalty, we needed a player with the capacity to light a spark with a bit of brilliance. We didn't have that leadership today.
Very disappointed to pick up another red - I missed it so had no idea what it was for. Injury is a shame, but that penalty....you could see there was no attempt at the ball from 150 yards away. Absolutely murdered us.
Feeling very despondent. I know this was always going to be a bad season, but I'm having trouble seeing what's supposed to come next season. Unless we do some magic recruiting between seasons......we're going backwards, not forwards. And unlike the start of the season we're not even entertainingly losing. I'm finally jumping on board the Walmsely out bandwagon.
Our discipline is a massive, massive problem. And had my team put in a performance like that when I was playing juniors, we'd be doing laps after the game as punishment.
Maybe it looked better on TV, I dunno.
Izzo......is dreadful. Worst hands in the game. He can barely catch a thing, everything just bounces back out off his hands. He made one or two saves, but at their 4th, bloke I was with said 'watch, they'll score this'....has anybody told Izzo that setting the wall is only part of his job at a FK?
Maybe if Izzo got ditched I might retain the tiniest bit of confidence in Walmsely - but keeping Izzo in is killing our next season. We need to develop Bray or HB NOW. We've got the wooden spoon, so may as well give another keeper some experience because it really doesn't matter how badly they'll do at this point.
Not that the loss is Izzo's fault - we really didn't deserve to win today.

Why did Fabio get sent? dissent?

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
Scott Miller must be peeing his pants in anticipation of the derby next week.....after that today I can't see us giving the jests much trouble and that hurts to say like nothing else...if we get done bad ( 3 or more goals) next week , I think Walmsley should volunteer to dive on his sword, and let Hutcho finish the year , he won't, but it would be nice

So many nailed on regulars saying they are done. I'm 50/50 to be one of them.
Are you saying done with the team/club or the coach? I've only seen one person on here say they'd be turning their back on the club. Wanting a few individuals gone and being upset are still a long way from being 'done'.
We could be stuck with TW and wooden spoons for 3 years but I'd still passionately follow the boys in yellow.

EDIT: "Mariners 'til I Die" is more than just a catchy song to sing, after all. For all my crying into my organic, gluten free, rainforest certified, fair trade alliance, handcrafted Melbournian pale ale microbrewed from nothing but kale, if I was on the coast I'd still be there and fired up next week. Heck, I was today and I expected a belting, though every match I'll hold a spark of optimism.

Having Hutcho coach instead of TW would be zero improvement.
The are both very very green and it shows.

We need a proper coach like Mike Mulvey if we are to move Tony upstairs....passing the reins to Hutch at this stage would ensure two wooden spoons.

Izzo's had his chance, he clearly hasn't done anything impressive with it apart from that 1 game 4 games ago.

Our backline just have no idea how to tackle in the box without conceding a penalty.

I have no idea how Tony Walmsley is still employed, we used to be a team to fear. But now, it's like "Oh we're vsing CCM? Free 3 points". Bluetongue used to be a f**king fortress, we'd fight to the end to not lose there and now it's like our team just rolls over and lets the opponents do whatever the f**k they want.

I'll be there next week.
There are 5k of us that are rusted on and I'm one of them.
Sure I'd like us to win occasionally and maybe have more than 3 shots all game!
As previously stated the squad is piss poor.....but bring in 4 or 5 real HAL players and we can turn everything around.

I expected to lose this game - but the body blows that came out of it for next week I did not.

First of all my thoughts go out to Storm.
Secondly Kudos to Fitzy. He was straight over to Storm without celebrating their penalty.
Third losing Posco and Fab will hurt us next week.

The only silver lining was City's last goal. Maybe TW will finally realise that Izzo has no idea how to set a wall and defend a set piece.

As I expressed my dissatisfaction on last week's game nothing has changed this week, our team is lacking leadership and that responsibility is to the coach . I have seen no improvement in our teams performances at all ,regardless of the fact that our team isn't result driven thanks TW . Newcastle will have no problems next week and Garcia aint going to do shit either while Tw in charge . I agree a new coach won't change our fortune's over night well for at least this year but it's gotta be better than the shit we've been accustomed to wright now.
