Izzo just interviewed pre game
So chance for back to back clean sheets? Izzo lets not get ahead of ourselves
Great winning mentality
Kiss those hard earned dollars good bye
Players should not be getting interviewed immediately before a game, IMO. Just let them focus. Izzo gave the response he needed to keep his head in the game. It's as bad as interviewing players at halftime.

Slightly disappointing that we couldn't avoid that nervous end. We can gain confidence that we were able to hold out, however.

Izzo was fantastic and won us this match, credit to him after such a difficult season last year. I also owe Matt Nash an apology, he has really improved Paul Izzo and made him believe in himself, something that was a near impossible task considering his embryonic experiences as a senior keeper. Hearing Paul say he was dazed and unable to remember where he was after Cirio's shot into his head was worrying and hearing that he probably should have been subbed off in my humble opinion.

Liam Rose was terrific today he executed a role that Faty failed to numerous times earlier this year and surely would have had an assist if not for an unfortunately wrong offside call his defensive game has markedly improved since his move to centre back. Storm Roux and Scott Galloway didn't have their best games but with the conditions and Adelaide constantly attempting to overload the flanks they never were going to. Jacob Poscoliero positioning was terrific today, he exudes confidence and allowed Liam Rose to be able to push forward with out a second thought.

Nick Montgomery was a warrior today, to solider on and work as hard as he did shows how much he bleeds for this club his passing has consistently improved this season as well and he continually brought Connor Pain and Trent Buhagiar into the game it was disappointing but showed how selfless he is (if a tad foolhardy) to leave an open goal shot for Adam Berry who wasn't expecting it. I don't think Adam Berry is quite ready for A-League level but he does work extremely hard, personally I would have brought Ascroft on for Ferriera to ensure
a bit more defensive solidity but there is nothing wrong with having faith in a young player and giving them time when a game is mostly gone. Fabio Ferriera was sensational he definitely has his old swagger back and that goal took exceptional technical skill it will be a very difficult decision on his future for Paolo and co at the end of the season.

Connor Pain worked tremendously hard with not too much to show for it apart from a few scuffed shots not his day today but it will click for him pretty soon. Trent Buhagiar was great in the first half but faded in the second, which is very understandable considering the conditions, unlucky not to have assisted at least one goal. Kwabena Appiah finally demonstrating what has kept him in the A-League all this time, if he can reproduce that amazing run and terrific pass to Josh Bingham a few more times this season he will more than earn a contract for next year. Roy didn't have his best day in a Mariners shirt and looked a tad rusty after a week out but has undoubted class and should improve next week. Josh Bingham had a difficult time but held the ball up quite well in the final few minutes apart from a few heavy touches, he could be something special but whether we can leave Roy out and give him the time to develop properly will be a very difficult decision for Paolo.

Mariners paid $158 for $40 bet. I feel sick to profit from the Green travesty but its been a profitable weekend overall. And who would have thought you could make money out of backing the Mariners!!!!

2nd half was really poor ball retention. Just kept kicking it back to them. Very lucky they didn't punish us.

Well done Appiah you try hard and deserve the goal for that effort.

Stormy giving way to much room for that AU goal.

Izzo with 3 or 4 fantastic saves, well done and with an improved defensive line he can now win us points with efforts like today. Totally different keeper when the opposition not coming at him 20 times a game. Well done for bouncing back. Have to be the leagues most improved

Paulo continues to really impress. Exactly the right subs tonight. Below par performances from Trent and Roy, so good that Appiah and Josh got some more game time. And what a great goal from Appiah! Imagine how good we'll be with Trent/Roy firing fully. Would like to think that will happen against the Wanderers next week.

Point me to the psychologist that has got Fabio's head in the right place. Another impressive outing.

However, having to rely on Izzo to repeatedly save us is not a good defensive strategy!
