I think our style demands a lot of players and LB is a high energy position. Its possible that Rosey no longer has the legs to play our way (or at least not for 90 mins)

Shame
Now you've crossed the line FFC :p Rosey Snr. is one of our "Pillars of Experience" atm, isn't he? And all impressions are that he is a very good club man. Please don't wish on him the same fate as some of the other recent dapartures. For a senior player being at 70% left in the tank is pretty damn good after 90+ minutes imho :)

It was really something hearing sackwacker giving the Mariners praise (although very grudging, but praise nevertheless) on SBS. About the only almost good thing about the commentary.

Rosey still held up even though he was hurting - and he clearly would have been fine if we had retaind a reasonable anount of possession - instead he had to continually chase down flyers and then worse the fresh legged replacement flyers. Still got some time in his legs i think - though and he's versatile can attack and makes a decent backup CB aswell.

Mariner Legend imo.

Though everyone runs out of legs eventually.

Rosey went ok.

He is no good as a winger but solid left back. A much better defender than Roux even though he is not originally a fullback in his younger days.

Starting 11 player for me.

Only saw part of the game, only just saw the highlights. That penalty....FFS, not in a million years was that a penalty. Got the ball, incidental contact with the attacker after (didn't go 'through' the attacker to get the ball).
Austin's goal was a cracker....hard to get those (to be fair, as an AR those ones are amongst the toughest decisions to make too). Victory's second goal, to be fair, was pretty good too.

The third goal, HB should have come out - I think he forgot that keepers have a height advantage. Just experience really.
It seems like we didn't have the confidence to keep backing ourselves in that game - a combination of inexperience and having to spend most of the 2nd half defending.

I f*****g hate Fox Sports commentators. Only slightly more than I hate trying to watch their highlights videos on that ridiculously inept website. Well, come to think of it, their highlights packages are generally pretty inept anyway.

Oi Capt don't you live down there??
Why weren't you at the game?
We had quite a good showing from a few hardy supporters.

I couldn't disagree more with the assessment of the Fox commentators. Harper as usual was savage at the start (despite the fact we won last week), but when we scored both he and Hill were full of praise for our goalscorers, the technique and passing leading up.

EDIT: And I normally get shitted off with how Fox treat us

My all time fav banner at BT stadium was the simple and succinct ..."HARPER U ARE A TWAT".

What happened?
Did you go?
I was there we had a fair group in full voice. When the equaliser went in a bunch of Victory fans came into our bay and started to abuse the chunk of fans that had been singing and chanting and then focused in on one bloke who was fairly drunk. Calling him the c word etc. The Mariners fan is initially held back by his mates but breaks free and gets into a punch on with the individual abusing him. Police quickly arrive and break it up but slam the Mariners fan into a seat so he can't breathe. Both Mariners and Victory fan are hauled away.

Yes i did go & 1 of our fans was being verbally abused by a victory fan in the away bay & then 1 of our fans got into a fight then the cops shoved our fan head first inbetween 2 seats & then grabbed his throat for about 1 min some of our other fans were complaining to the cops about using execesive force & was removed it wasn't as bad as the scum brawl

Once you've thrown punches the cops are going to have an argument for using actual force against you. Not to mention pressing charges, advising FFA to apply stadium bans, etc...

Team ratings.

From Jamie Oliver /John Aloisi.

Delighted with way we played first half. Stunned at way we dominated every contact and physically outplayed MV. Very very proud of a draw.

Sick of bias commentators.

Next season we will be fitter and physically better equipped to play entertaining/ counter attacking football. Our younger players will be better equipped/more experienced after this season.

The way we played in first half was 9/10. Clearly exhausted second half.
A 3.3'draw with the champions is a great result.

Jets for wooden spoon.

Versus MV
The football.
Congratulations.
Thank you MC and TW and coaching team

In the press conference there was a question about stadium costs. TW mentioned they were a big cost but that with the amalgamation of the councils that the Mariners were hoping to be able to tender for the stadium rights again. You would think that that would be quite a change in the existing cost structure if they were successful and

1) didn't have to pay for the use of the ground
2) had control over the catering
3) were able to get income from NRL, concerts, etc.

Similar to what John Singleton had ???

Wonder what CCM would have to pay to $$$ecure the Stadium Management's Rights?

And what/if any ongoing payments from a % of revenue that the Stadium generates, from said concerts/crusty demons etc. ?

It would be great for the club to negotiate with itself for the weekly rent, but also good for the region which IS & WHAT should be the The Central Coast Council's new focus ........ growth.

A viable, financially stable CCM is good for ALL Coastie's.
