ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Similar to what John Singleton had ???

Wonder what CCM would have to pay to $$$ecure the Stadium Management's Rights?

And what/if any ongoing payments from a % of revenue that the Stadium generates, from said concerts/crusty demons etc. ?

It would be great for the club to negotiate with itself for the weekly rent, but also good for the region which IS & WHAT should be the The Central Coast Council's new focus ........ growth.

A viable, financially stable CCM is good for ALL Coastie's.

The problem back in the day was that Council didn't trust us to manage our club let alone the stadium - I remember there was a snarky tweet or two from Gabby Bowles suggesting we might want to get our house in order first.

That might be less true now. Whilst we're propping up the table, the business side seems to be coming good.

The stadium could still do with some development though (corporate facilities, office space, kitchens and back of house facilities etc.) and I'm pretty sure we're not the people to fund that.

Mods - before you move this to someone else - this is not a political observation.

I know Gabby is part of Lawrie's team - but she actually rarely says anything that I can agree with. Lawrie seems to have a big picture for Gosford. Gabby and Lucy Wicks both seem to want to go about things piecemeal.

As for stadium development - surely with the billions that are in the Premier's stadium redevelopment plan we can find some for CCS (soon to be known as Mariners Stadium). We only need a modest request in the context of what is being spent in Sydney.

A redevelopment of the northern end to add another level. It would give a roof over the active support, have corporate facilities at the front and office space, kitchens and back of house facilities etc at the back with alleyways connecting to the upper levels of the western and eastern stand. It would change the acoustics of the stadium as well as enabling the club to service the corporates better. There seems to be plenty of state money for stadium redevelopment.

Never understood why CCS isn't a concert venue. Stage at the palm-tree end, 10k punters easy transport etc
You wouldn't want to hold concerts during summer given we have matches at least once every few weeks. There's too great a risk of damaging the turf, and there's no other stadium on the Coast we could play at (can you imagine the meltdown on Facebook if a game had to be moved?)

Concerts out of season might be feasible, particularly since the NRL are only playing at CCS once this year, but again I'd be concerned about the surface being up to scratch come the start of the new season...

~$lm gets you a hybrid natural-synthetic surface that can stand up to far greater punishment, and could be suitable for concerts etc.

We dont need additional capacity, but additional/improved facilities would not hurt.

Did they hold Xmas Carols there, just gone?

Know they've had them in the past

There were carols at Kibble Park on Christmas Eve. I don't think they had any at the stadium this year.

They're holding Cinema under the Stars there next Saturday, but it's blankets and pillows only to protect the surface.

FFA pulling their heads out of their arses would do the job as well. MLS is a bigger comp than the A-League, and they've had finals played in Columbus, Kansas City, Colorado and Houston in recent years, all of which are similar size to Central Coast Stadium.

Sell the bugger out and have a live site on Leagues Club Park as well. Have the biggest party Gosford has ever seen.

There was one there years ago...Heatwave I think it was, headlined by Killing Heidi. Also had Grinspoon, Frenzal Rhomb, and a few others. They laid down some rubber matting type stuff to protect the turf where they expected the mosh pit to be.

That was back in 2000 when I think they had several months to do any required repair work on the turf before the Northern Beagles came back for their half a dozen games the following year.

It's a bit harder with an actual full-time tenant, especially one that plays a sport requiring a quality surface in prime concert/festival season.

It's all happening at the Racecourse now.
They have put on some very good shows.

It's not rocket science though - I mean it's done every week, somewhere in the world.
"Parken" in Copenhagen, is both the national stadium and the home ground of FC Copenhagen - holds 40-55000 depending on the setup... I've been to a number of concerts there over the years. They put down a fake floor and go from there.
The last concert I saw there, was on a Thursday, with a game on on the Saturday - to my knowledge there were no complaints about the turf - so it IS possible... Whether it'd require major amounts of refitting though, who knows? :)

I was there we had a fair group in full voice. When the equaliser went in a bunch of Victory fans came into our bay and started to abuse the chunk of fans that had been singing and chanting and then focused in on one bloke who was fairly drunk. Calling him the c word etc. The Mariners fan is initially held back by his mates but breaks free and gets into a punch on with the individual abusing him. Police quickly arrive and break it up but slam the Mariners fan into a seat so he can't breathe. Both Mariners and Victory fan are hauled away.
Yes i did go & 1 of our fans was being verbally abused by a victory fan in the away bay & then 1 of our fans got into a fight then the cops shoved our fan head first inbetween 2 seats & then grabbed his throat for about 1 min some of our other fans were complaining to the cops about using execesive force & was removed it wasn't as bad as the scum brawl
More or less sums it up. I was next to our guy who got restrained and taken out - completely agree re: use of excessive force, which apparently continued in a lift after.

For what it's worth I don't think either our bloke or the Vuck fan laid a punch. Their guy did manage to fly down several rows to instigate the fight though.

Re: the stadium.
How did they protect the surface when the held the motor bike night there a few years ago.
They brought in tonnes of earth to make the track & jumps etc.

I'm sure I saw the surface being covered a week or so before Christmas. I thought that was for the carols.
I wonder what they were doing then?

I've been beaten up on non-Mariners facebook pages for daring to suggest our Premier for Manly should actually spend some money outside Sydney, on anything really.

I also dared to suggest a major upgrade of Parramatta on public parklands and after pledges made by government at the original rebuild was not exactly without issues, as well as the spend.

Then look at Newcastle and how they have been screwed over with the proceeds from lease of the port.

You are dreaming.
