ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I'm sure I saw the surface being covered a week or so before Christmas. I thought that was for the carols.
I wonder what they were doing then?
There were no Carols there this year although there will be Cinema under the Stars there this weekend.
I have seen them covering the turf with a white tarp/cloth in the past when sowing in the new season's turf.

I've been beaten up on non-Mariners facebook pages for daring to suggest our Premier for Manly should actually spend some money outside Sydney, on anything really.

I also dared to suggest a major upgrade of Parramatta on public parklands and after pledges made by government at the original rebuild was not exactly without issues, as well as the spend.

Then look at Newcastle and how they have been screwed over with the proceeds from lease of the port.

You are dreaming.

Sadly correct- we arent in Sydney we will get nothing

Not only are we not Sydney, we also had the temerity to vote Labor at the last election. That's also why we no longer have a Minister for the Central Coast.

Covers also used to increase ground temperature to stimulate growth.
The northern end looked a bit patchy on NYE, forgot all about it in the excitement of a win.

Those GIFs are interesting actually, the repeats gives a good chance to see what happened.
I've gotta say, on the night I was just thrilled throughout the first half - obviously... But looking at those GIFs made me realise how well our front three seemed to be working together. They were both moving for each other and looking for each other... Something that's been sorely missing in our game for most of this season... Hasn't been uncommon to see someone come through with something really good, only to get stuck in the front third, with noone to pass to.
Austin, Bingham and Ferreira seemed to sync up really really well in the first half... Struggled a bit when they got tired, can't really blame them though, that was a LOT of FAST running. But it gives me a LOT of hope going forward, especially for next season if we can hold on to all of them :)

Great find on that site.

I feel like Mitch Austin's goal hasn't received enough attention. 1-on-1s with the keeper like that are so very easy to get wrong. So much pretty because the striker is expected to get it, and having to run flat out like that means it's harder to control the ball. But he knew how much time he had and slowed down briefly to boost his control, and slotted it with precision. It was really a beautiful goal.
That pass was just perfectly timed though - a tenth of a second later and he would have been offside. Earlier, and the defender could have caught him or he wouldn't have had time to control it before taking the shot.
And just saying it - well done to the AR as well. This type of scenario is one of the hardest to get right. Probably in the top 3 most difficult ones to get right.

Some good points Cap'n... Actually, that highlights one of my ongoing with Zac. From the word go, he always had a tendency to stop completely and appeal for off-side, rather than keep fighting and hope that the off-side comes off... We've leaked more than one goal because it sort of rubbed off and at times, our entire defence would just stop playing and stand there looking at the AR while the opposition team scored... Credit to MV, in spite of the other issues they had at that point in the game, for actually trying to keep up and get to the ball, rather than just stopping and hoping that the off-side came off.
