ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Imo good first half with an outstanding Caceres playing DM, his touch and ball distribution is second to none. I believe he's been wasted playing so deep. Imo he should have played AM instead of McGlinchey or if GA is going to play him DM, he should be given more freedom to play his creative game. One can tell that the youngster is restricted on how far he can push forward. Duke was his usual, powerful, explosive, always in your face and most important of all : scoring. Liked how Fitzy performed but he must improve his finishing. He missed a couple obvious scoring opportunities. Reddy had an easy night and did the right thing when he was called into action. Morton and Zac did alright but both are lesser quality than Roux and Trent.

Duke & Caceres : 3pts
Fitzy : 2 points
Matty: 1 point

We've got plenty of good options at 10, playing deeper doesn't mean you're just a water carrier. He'll have more time on the ball at DM and he'll get us moving. The benefit at DM is that he can easily slide forward into a second AM spot if we're looking to change the 'mood' of the side (say, if we're chasing the game hard and looking to play a 4-1-2-3), and he's got the skills to work there.

As for playing ball players at DM, it worked pretty well on GF day with Olly there...

The boy will work well there, especially with Flores at 10... Expecting big things.

Everyone has a right to their opinion True Believer but your view on Fitzy seem at complete odds to everyone else. I would love to hear what you think he did poorly, he obviously missed a couple of chances, was there anything else in his play that would warrant your criticism? Not trying to criticize you just wanting to know what you saw that the rest of us missed.

When Seip first arrived all the talk was negative & he ain't no Patrick.
At first thought it might have been taken as talk him down because the poor bloke is replacing a club legend.

Then the other day I finally read something good on him but it was as described a good hard nosed defender nothing more.

I took that as the boys & the coach now trying to pump him up to give him confidence. Think he will be a disappointment but will have to have a look in person to get a better understanding

He will be a good experienced pro, i'm expecting him to add a bit of mongrel in defence and show some leadership. Been Dutch he will be comfortable on the ball but i don't expect Patrick's same level of distribution. I'm sure he will be a good aquisition.

. from what i have seen on dodgy intermittent streams ... he didn't seem that confident on the ball to me. reminded me of clarkie actually but i haven't seen very much

. perhaps he has spent too much time in the UK. remember monty's first instincts were not possession based (obvious at times in his first a-league match)

Aye, I always see Monty more as a ball winner than as a ball keeper. Win the ball and pass it off to some other bloke.

Neither Hutch nor Monty move the ball very quickly in transition. That's where Rostyn was so good and Caceres might force his way in there during the season.

Will be brilliant to see

Central Coast Mariners will take on Persib Bandung in the Club’s third and final group fixture at the 2013 Menpora Cup in Indonesia this evening, and the match promises to provide Graham Arnold’s charges with their toughest test in the competition thus far.
The Mariners need just a draw against the popular local Club to advance to the Final to be held in Malang, however with a partisan home crowd full of fervent fans barracking for Bandung, the Mariners will need to be on their game to secure their place in the tournament’s showpiece match.
Persib Bandung is one of the best supported Club’s in Indonesia, and a near capacity crowd is expected tonight at the 40,000 all-seater Stadion Si Jalak Harupat.
Fans in Australia can watch the game live by CLICKING HERE at 9:25pm AEST.
