ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Players Season 2012/2013 HAL8

Arnie has already said that he will use the money for Wilko to find a new DM. I'd say if Beekemans comes off, he'll be signed primarily as a DM, not a defender.

I don't want that c**t Culina anywhere near this club and I'm glad CCM have already come out and quashed that rumour.

Sarota I can see going to Western Syd, not here... As much as I'd love him here.

Are you joking Marvin? What about bozza?

Vanstrattan is only 29 so he is not old considering keepers play into there late 30s and I really rate him.

henderson is old but he was consistent at North Queensland and I think if he is cheap he would be good competition for Justin Pasfield.

Vanstrattan is my first choice though.

He's not had a club since being released by us. Not sure if he's even been training anywhere (heard he was on trial at the Nix at the start of last season, but other than that...). Would need a lot of work to get him up to scratch.

Hendo? No thanks.

Whatever happened to Nikodin Matic, the previous youth 'keeper. I seem to recall he went on the Nike Chance thingo but haven't heard a dicky-bird since. I remember him being quite a good shot stopper.

He might not have played for a while, but if he has been doing some type of training it will not take him long to get into the swing of things.

There's probably a reason why he hasn't been picked up by another club, and I daresay that reason is because he's just not the same after his injury.

This is possibly true, hate when injuries ruin a good player, I hope he gets a chance at a club though.

The club has made it clear (on Mariners home page facebook) that they are not interested in Jason Culina 'not on the club's radar'. Beekemans can play both CB and Midfield so may well solve two problems - midfield No 6 that Arnie wants but also cover for CB, as Griffiths was, if Sainsbury or Anderson falter. Vaguely remember him for GCU - strong, intelligent and quite skilled as a defender.

If that is true that Culina is not on the clubs radar then it is not a good sign for Jason. The club uses the Hill St boys pretty regularly and Culina's doctor consults from there. If we are not interested in a cheap Culina then I suspect the injury/rehab is not as advanced as being potrayed.

As for Beekmans, he would be a good pickup. Seemed to work well at DM with Anderson at GCU. I'd still like to see Sarota as well.

Why is Marinermick active on the SFCU forum before he posts it on here?...

Because when he has posted what he knows here he has been treated like a Jeremiah.

There is nothing wrong, and a hell of a lot right with being skeptical, and with Mick's background at Breakers? and Northern Spirit it is perfectly understandable that he is wary of football finances. As long as there is balanced discussion a person playing devil's advocate is very healthy and we as a forum are probably more accepting of the little we are told because of his absence.

I was wondering if you were joking as they are both ex mariners players.

Jvs did his cruiciate and is retired I believe and Henderson must be nearly 40. Henderson was brilliant 10 yrs ago but looked washed up for fury.....and I don't think he played a single minute for us in one whole season.

Henderson is 36 so not too old for a 'keeper. Whilst I think he had some great moments at Fury, he's definitely not the answer for us. He was only ever signed as an injury replacement as a backup after JVS did his ACL.

I don't think JVS has retired but I really have no idea what he is actually doing. Agreed though, I thought the lad was quality, it's a shame to see how far the injury set him back.

I don't think Jvs is retired, he trialed for wellington last year, I think he is waiting for a another chance but im not that sure.

I would not say Henderson was washed up at fury, he made one big mistake that I can remember and made some great saves.
But we should probably be looking for someone in there mid 20, unless we find a Ryan quality player again.

I still can't decide who should be in the starting line up.

----------- Pasfield
Pedj - Anderson - Dutchie - Rose
--------------- Beekmans
Hearfield ------------ Weemac
------------ Sterjovski
Bernie------------------ Kwas

Thats assuming Ryan leaves and we get Paul Beekmans

Maybe?

Its not that I don't rate him, but he is not the best we have, that being said if he was in the starting team I would not complain.

Marvin

weeMac is a right sided player ... you have him on the left...

You left out Olly, Rojec & Caceres arguably along with weeMac our best mids...

also assuming Ryan goes and prior to any further recruitment i'd go

...........Pasfield

Pedj...Anderson...Dutchie...Rose

..............Hutch
.....Weemac............Olly
..............Rogic

...Bernie............Sterjovski

With variations being
Sainsbury interchanging with Anderson & Cacaeres with Hutch.
I'd also consider Sterj at LM or AM with Kwas stepping in and Rogic needs to be tested as a striker at some point too

this is with a lot of unknowns, haven't seen the new young boys in action yet

Fairly reputable source on Twitter claiming we have, in fact, signed c**tlina. Curiouser and curiouser.
Source may be reputable, but I hope not so reliable!
Don't want to see Fall-Over Boy in our colours.
Then again, we didn't want Arnie when it was first announced. I suppose you never know.

re- culina

worth signing him just to piss off the squadrunts, he came VERY close to killing the jets franchise off entirely!

but is this reputable source as reputable as the Arnold himself tweeting "No, we will not be signing Jason Culina. He is a great player but not on our radar"
