ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

agree with the 'let's make the best of it' comments. Reddy does need to prove himself now, in a big way for a long time.
but this club is based on it's bonded culture and built on friendship, positivity and the drive to grow.

I don't believe throwing vitriol or hatred is the way forward for the ccm community, let's rise above it and pull together for the better. that approach is a big part of why I love this club

Im not thrilled, he is a dickhead we all know this.

I'll never forget Perez, Matty Simon or even his punchable face. All I can hope is that he has been eating a solid diet of humble pie these last few years and the time away from first team A-league football has changed his attitude completely.

I also hope that the basis of Arnie and Co signing him was that they identified a broken man who's douchebag past led him to where he was today and he is hungry and talented enough to prove everyone wrong, including the loyal yellow fans who have already written him off.

I hope you are reading this Liam, we don't like you, prove us wrong.
That'll happen when pigs fly:piralaugh:

The club have set this stomping piece of filth up to fail IMHO.

He starts with us with no goodwill and is on a hiding to nothing. Any slip or nervy performances will be pounced on.

When a new player gets a special song abusing him before the initial announcement, it wont be fun for him (hopefully)

Farken.

It's poor form to quote yourself and all that, but I think it's important that we all learn this song:

Better yet, given that there'll be no local community businesses interested in sponsoring him, we should get it put up on the big screen when his face comes up pre-game. Don't want to take any chances that people don't know the words.

Looks like we found our new song for when the team runs out.

Also will be great for ground atmosphere. Everyone chanting piss off scum

If the Chinese or whoever it was were confussed over us sing go yellow when they were wearing yellow, wait till we start shit canning our own player. Might get those ACL boos ringing around BT again like when the Chinese were sampling our local grass & rolling around it to get there shirts dirty.

Does the fact that Gollies don't wear the Blue & yellow shirt make it acceptable that he's not really part of the team or is it our gag to get him back by making him wear Pink (Some how Matty pulled off the pink quite well)?

Come on now every pub in town should be looking to sign him up. You know he will be good for business.
Bluetongue could put him in a couple of ad's. Come down to Blue tongue have a swig with Reddy & then booo the crap out of him.
With a disclaimer - All activities are based on player making it off the plane & not being to pissed to participate

Whatever Liam does it won't change the mind of some people.
Okay he has screwed up in the past but who hasn't, the Mariners pride themselves on being a tightly bonded club let's see what they can do to turn Reddy into that type of player synonymous with the club and it's culture.

f**k him.

We have all made the odd slip up, its part of growing up (Troy).

Him? How many violent outbursts make it part of who he is?

A public apology for the violence he delights in serving up to our players as a starter might help.

Then for getting Perez suspended

Then for punching Matty Simon

Then for the gestures at Mariners fans

Be a long press conference wont it?

My gut reaction to the rumours and now the news has been "your F**king kidding" but now have to see it this way...

I have to trust Arnie, JC and the other staff that he's the right option and will fit our culture.

To make me feel better about his ability, this from Wiki about the end of the 2010 season:
Reddy currently holds the Wellington Phoenix record for most consecutive clean sheets after he kept three clean sheets against Adelaide United, Gold Coast United and Central Coast Mariners. The Phoenix won all three of those matches and secured an historic play-off against Perth Glory. In that play-off, the game finished 1–1 with Chris Greenacre grabbing a goal. In the penalty shoot-out, Reddy made two brilliant saves and sent the Phoenix to a home semifinal against Newcastle Jets. Even though Reddy was with the Phoenix for a short period of time, playing a total of only 12 matches. Reddy was a favourite with the Wellington fans when he was announced as one of the finalists for the Members' Player of the Year.
He will be our oldest player between the sticks apart from JC himself in season one. We've become used to having kids.

I'd add, for mine a CCM supporter booing a current player wearing a CCM shirt, falls outside my fan no-dickhead criteria.

Kwas,Pedj,Bernie,Hutch and Pellers have all copped a fair bit in their time.

Has happened at every game since we started. Some more often than others especially recently as we have done so well. Its usually individuals though, I cant recall ever hearing any chanting slagging a player?

The huge cheers everytime Pellers was subbed is another form of it TBH.

Poor choice what with word that Danny Vukovic is looking for a new team, I can already identify one player that would be apparently available and is better. The only reason I can think is that Reddy is a "Known quantity" having played the A-League before and will be on the cheap considering he'd much rather be in the A-League than the state league. I can see the reasoning there

That said, don't rate him, don't like him as a person or player, don't want him on the Mariners, gonna be more than a bit vocal about it at games unless he can prove me wrong.

Also I hope you're having a sick twisted laugh pete suggesting that he is going to be wearing the #1 ahead of Justin.

As Wayne Bennett said of coaching "when you start to listen to the fans that's when you'll be joining them in the stands"

Twice we have lost a keeper with a season ending injury and had to rely on our reserve in which case both Danny and Matty stepped up to number 1. Obviously the coaching staff don't think we have adequate cover and Reddy seems to be the only option that they can find that fits within the budget with the quality required.

If I were in Arnies shoes being paid to deliver results then I know which option I would be taking, I mean if the board had listened to the fans on here were wouldn't be where we are today as he wouldn't be our coach!!!

BTW, what's the record for number of diiferent A-League clubs played for?

Five. Jeremy Brockie (Knights, Jets, Fury, Sydney FC, Wellington), Justin Pasfield (Roar, Mariners, Jets, Fury, Sydney FC) and Isaka Cernak (Roar, Victory, Fury, Glory, Phoenix).
