ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

be disappointing to lose him now, was excited to see Duke really hit his straps this season. that said I expected Sainsbury to go but so far so good, so maybe Duke will be around for at least half a season yet.
in time I want them both playing top flight stuff but there's more development and good work to be done here yet first lads!

I didn't mean to forget Kwasaldinho but my point was that we only have Golden Boot Daniel McBreen and the prolific Matt Simon to fall back on which I reckon is pretty damn good! Plus play-me-up-front-in-the-Grand-Final Sterjovski...

I`m not expecting to see much of Kwas .
I think he`ll just stick out his contract & fade away to be honest.
I hope i`m wrong but we`ve seen Kwassie`s best years.

I thought that's what would happen when he came back form Phoenix to be honest. And he had a great season.
If there's one thing Kwas has taught me, expect the unexpected

hmmm, McBreen would consider staying longer in China if the opportunity came up

I've had a feeling he would be looking to stay on if the opportunity came up, scary thought seeing as though Duke may be leaving in the Jan exodus if not sooner!

Is it time for CCM to stop selling everyone who receives overseas interest?

If we are supposably saved by the new owner than sales aren't as crucial as they maybe were before, or were we selling too cheaply to get the $$$ instead of bargaining?

It would definitely be an attraction to recruiting players that we are a path way to o/s clubs but when does that become a detriment to CCM?

All young players aspire to go o/s I get that & as part of our philosophy of youth that makes sense.

But how many times can you regenerate the club playing roster & get success?

Mcbreen is obviously old & you really can't begrudge him a pay day & life experience at an age where every game we get out of him is a bonus.

Duke has interest from a PL club which is very exciting (not just Asian or lower leagues - Even know they are better paying & possibly better than the A-League)

Sainsbury may depart if has another good year - That hammy injury might turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Then have just turned over Ryan, Rogic, Ibini + Olli in 6 months + others the years before.

Sure some of these are big clubs which is grate.

Do you prefer the sell & watch them o/s with interest like we are with Ryan, Mcbreen + Rogic approach or would people prefer we try & limit the sales to keep the team in tact or have we just seen our own golden generation come through & now almost be gone o/s?

I personally like seeing how they go overseas but it is nice to keep a core here to.

Most players have a clause in their contract that says that they are allowed to trial or be sold overseas (release clause).

Not much the club can actually do to stop it really.

The club is a long (long) way from being self sufficient financially and requires the income from player sales to survive. Thats the business model.

As fans, we think the owners should simply write cheques to cover the trading losses. We wouldnt so why should they?

Looks like the 2nd keeper isn't going to be young - Don't like the way the article says they prefer other state league keepers. Maybe Reedy did better than him?

Damn, I was really looking forward to young. Reddy would be a woeful choice, and Bradasevic doesn't seem ready at all. Young would be a great choice and I don't see why he wouldn't be able to challenge for the starting role if he is as good as his CV says.

Very poor State League keeper or a guy who got his team relegated out of the football league?

Not much of a choice even if the guy has tickets on himself (see whiny 442 article)

On Jamie Young - second choice at relegated Aldershot last season. First choice was Ross Worner, now at AFC Wimbledon. I watched him play on the weekend and he is definitely not up to A League standard which does not fill me with confidence on Young.
And McBreen was only responding to questions from the reporter - he also says he wants to be part of the Mariners going for the double of Premiers and Champions.

Jack Sullivan - son of the owner of West Ham - tweeted last night they expect the signing of an international player in the next few days.

Naughty Hammers, that's our Duke.
